Custom AVI's on computer and TV's

I have seen some great tutorials on playing custom avi's on computer and TV screens (I have been successful at this). However, to do so, I have to change the ini files and do some complicated directory stuff.

So, my question: is there a way to load movies onto a screen without changing .ini files? In this way, the avi could just be placed in the MyDocuments/sims2/movies/... and the .package would know where to find it and load it.

The current way I am doing it makes it very hard to share objects with custom movies, because it requires so much work to get things setup correctly.

Adam, your question is definitely unrelated to "Simantic and BHAVs", so I moved your post here.
I always thought that placing the AVI's in the proper subfolder in Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Movies\Broadcast would have allowed the AVI to be seen on TV's (while the Movies\Games folder was for the computers).
Isn't it so?

Modifying the .ini should be needed only to create new custom TV channels, afaik.
