I voted for the put away homework mod. I would like my sim kids and teens to put their homework in their rooms and not outside or in the middle of the living room where people walk. It has bothered me for years that I have to keep moving it, or they do it where everyone else can't walk pass. I must admit it was a close race with the nusery nessecites by Phaenoh. I liked everything that she made, but the items of her's I had liked the most I didn't have pets, apt. life, or free time to be able to use them. Moghughson and Phaenoh did an excellent job in the mods. catagory!

I adore everything Rebecah makes and the homework mod is awesome. I can actually find my sim kids homework, but Phaenoh is another creater who when I see something she made my eyes light (they do this with Rebecah) and Phaenoh's entry is my favorite entry for the entire contest, so sorry Rebecca, ModHughson, and Jasana BugBreeder, but Phaenoh gets my vote . . . wish I could vote for two.

As much as the BabbyQ is truly awesome, it was left off on purpose - due to its controversial nature as well as the fact that it is not actually hosted by us (the file is linked to rather than uploaded) which is an exception we don't often make in terms of just being a regular upload here... And, well, while it does -sort of- fit the theme, it's more for other sims than kids... We decided to stick with stuff that was a bit closer to the main idea of cute cuddly stuff rather than eat babbies. :)

Any "votes" for things not in the list are summarily ignored and do not count. After all, the vote options are listed in the poll itself... You can pick these and only these.

All these entries are extremely well done. Making a choice is difficult.
I voted for Hope and Rebecah's entry. They both are so talented and do much to make to make little Sims play more fun and interesting.
I imagine there will be many questions about where the 'baby rooster' is. Pescado commands it, lol:
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,14505.0.html
Pescado is so amusing, intelligent and smart, what would we sim players do without him? He brings new dimensions and avenues to the Sims2.
For alll his incredible work, I didn't like the "baby rooster", I wouldn't have voted for it.

As I have previously said - votes for things not on the poll do not count and are therefore null and void and have been removed from this thread.
There are deliberate reasons why we did not include the baby bbq which HP has already pointed out. This is not debatable.
Any further votes for that will be summarily deleted.
Vote ONLY for items in the actual poll or don't vote. It's that simple.

I am abstaining from voting, due to the deletions above. Invalid votes do not have to be counted, but unless the contents of the posts go against the site's TOU in some way, I feel that deletion is out of line.

Agreed. You don't have to count my vote if you don't want too, but why delete my post?
Delphy
25th Feb 2009, 09:10 PM
They go against Rule 1 of the Forum Posting Guidelines. Thus, deletion is not out of line.
I suggest you read up on the rules before posting about the rules. :)
Invalid votes for non-nominees clutter up the comments about the real nominees and thus have been removed.

First you allow the babbyroaster to remain on the site, despite the fact that it's controversial.
Then you exclude it from the challenge, because it's controversial.
Contradiction city, guys.
Then you delete comments containing non-legitimate votes you have no intention of counting anyway because ... you have the power to delete anything that puts a hair up your butt? That's all I can figure, anyway.

Honestly, the only reason to exclude the roaster would be if it would win. There'd be no need, otherwise. Just let it lose quietly and without fuss. What are you afraid of?

HAI GUYZ, Rule 1 says "obey staff at all times" and " if staff says black is white, it's white."
Snerk. Poor sheeple.

I voted for the playground. It is awesome!
Also, just want to say I fully support the decision not to include the bbq thing. It was not appropriate for the kids stuff category. It didn't really fit any of the contest categories in my opinion. To include it in the vote would be very unfair to those who followed the contest guide lines.

wthrwthoutyu,
I guess you missed entirely HPs post then, didn't you? She specifically stated (as I did) that there are other reasons it's not included in this poll. Selective reading does not a good point make. I suggest you also go read HPs post after you read this.
I deleted the posts becuase I had already said to people to only vote for things that are in the list and people ignored my explicit instructions. Sorry but that means posts get deleted.
Let me state this to everybody in terms that are clear:
The baby roaster is not a nominee. It is not a nominee because of the following reasons:
1. It is not hosted on MTS2 and it's inclusion in the original challenge was as a special dispensation to Pescado.
2. The challenge itself is more "Fun Stuff for Kids" and thus we decided that any exceptions in this category would more closely match this description.
3. Yes it's controversial and that, in addition to the reasons above meant we did not include it in the final list of nominees.
It's not about what would or would not win. It's not about anything except the above reasons, and any further discussion on this topic is closed.
Vote, or don't. Your choice. But if this continues then there will be no more voting in this category and staff will choose a winner, and thats not as fair to the creators who we *did* put forward for an exceptional.
Now can we please get OFF the subject of the baby barbeque and back to the items for the creators who we DID nominate? How do you think THEY feel reading this thread about THIER creations and see it full of stuff about an item that we have already said isn't going to be on the list? There is some really great stuff thats been nominated that does fit the theme way better and is really good for the game, so lets concentrate on those.
So come on, get with the program. If you don't want to vote, then don't! If you have a problem with the nominees, then I suggest you output all posts to /dev/null.
Thank you and have a nice day.
PS If I see any more "I vote for cheese! and by cheese I mean the BBQ" I will start handing out asshattery warnings.

Just my 2 cents - there were a LOT of great entries in this challenge - not all got nominated. I don't see posts from other creators complaining. Yes, a great object - not nominated - but better luck next time, and I can't wait to see what Pescado comes up with.
BTW - I voted for what I thought was the best of the nominees - and it was a hard choice - these are all excellent mods.

Indeed, it was -very- hard choosing the items to vote for - there were soooo many good entries, and a heck of a lot of discussion over how the heck to choose from so many lovely things. Definitely my favourite of the challenges thus far. :)

While I can understand why the BBQ wasn't added to the vote, it begs the question, "Why allow it on the site if it isn't hosted by the site, and if it was, would it be on the list to be voted for?"
I feel that this pole has gone down the route of TSR censorship, and that people voicing their opinons on the matter will not have a say in it and anything they say will be deleted. If the BBQ not being hosted on this site is a problem, why was it allowed to be put on here in the first place?

We chose particular items which we thought were the best candidates for the exceptionals, after much debate (which did include consideration of the BabbyQ - it was removed from the running after much discussion - see the points above for reasons). This is the same way we've done it for most of the past challenges - staff picks a group of our favourites and then we do a poll to see community opinion among the tops of those.
Why it was allowed despite not being hosted here has already been discussed - normally we wouldn't have off-site hosted stuff like that, but it was a bit of a special case (as Pescado hotlinks directly to his files - it's not just a thing to advertise and drive traffic to his own site like some other creators have tried to do). The fact that the BabbyQ wasn't added to the vote is why it's completely off topic and irrelevant to this thread. The BabbyQ will not be included no matter how hard Pescado's sheeples bang pots and pans at his request.
Voting for something that is not included in the voting is pointless, and thus will be deleted as we have already addressed the issue and do not want this thread derailed further with it.

Yay! Homework mod! My simmies love it ;) Great job everyone! Voting was hard.
I agree with Boylie. I don't want to go against the moderators, but if it did get accepted to the contest, then why would it be excluded from the voting. It's like it never got accepted in the first place (kinda like doing something half way and never finishing it).
About the deleted comments: To obey moderators doesn't mean you cannot say what you think about the topic. The comments were on topic so why would they be deleted? Because the people saying them didn't agree with the moderators? Does that mean that if I say that I would have voted for the BBQ will get my comment deleted? People are just saying that they wished it would have been included and showing support to one of the most talented simmers in the whole community. So yeah go BBQ! It was the most original, elaborated thing in the contest, it even had costume memories. I know it will not get voted and that it will not be part of the contest. I don't try to get it to be.
So if comments will get deleted for saying your opinion then it kinda goes completely against the whole idea and concept of MTS where you share and display creativity (isn't this the most important thing here?) so deleting things that are on topic is blocking creativity and sharing (cause deleting a comment about how well you and your boyfriend are going is completely off topic and must get deleted).
Well that's just my opinion. Probably will get deleted. Just wanted to say what I thought.

MANY items that were submitted as part of the challenge are not included in the voting. Moderators pick our favourites and you can vote on those. Why the BabbyQ was not included has already been explained, as has why comments on it are off-topic and thus, why they are deleted. We don't dislike the BabbyQ - I cracked up hard when I saw it... but it is not an option to vote on, will not be an option to vote on, and is off-topic for this thread.
Please stick to just commenting on the items included here - as has already been said, it is unfair to the creators of the items that can be voted on to have this whole thread derailed.
All further off-topic comments will be deleted.
This will not be discussed further here. We have explained it in depth and it doesn't need anything further about it. Thanks.

Enough said HP. Agree! I voted for "Put your homework away properly!" by MogHughson. I really needed a mod like this, since the sim kids sometimes hide their homework, throw them away, and sometimes i did not found the homework. I really love the other mods too, but i had to choose one, so i choosed the one i really wanted to use most. Thanks for sharing! :bunny:

Feel free to erase this, but if it's causing that much controversy, why not open another thread for the discussion of ANY and ALL items that were not included for consideration. Obviously, people do want to discuss it, but I do see your point about this thread being ONLY for the folks who are in the running. All this discussion about other things, is stealing their thunder.
I can't speak for everyone, but if I had come here and seen "If you want to complain that your favorite item wasn't picked, don't post it here, go here instead" I would have left this thread and gone to the other one.

Truly awesome work, all of you! Great ideas and a lot of effort went into all of them. I think my favorite is the homework though. I play a lot of toddler/kid challenges and it is quite the concentration game when playing 20 orphans to select the right homework. (Of course, I couldn't have afforded desks and chairs for all of them either.) For a look at what I mean, go to sims2community forum on challenges and check out the orphanage challenge.

darqstar, we've run every other challenge exactly the same way - the poll threads are about the nominees themselves and only that. We've allowed limited discussion in this thread and explained things in detail so I don't believe a seperate discussion thread is warrented, simply becuase there really isn't anything *to* discuss. :)

Even if it is not included in the polls, I agree that the OMGWTFBBQ is the single most awesome creation in this entire contest, although I have to admit that you are right in that it does not fit the theme, not just ex officio, but also because it is not a creation for kids, but against them. Still, if I could, I would vote for it.
So instead my vote goes to the homework awayputter.

The barbecue is just plain weird, I really don't see how so many people "voted" for it.
As much as I love the playground slides, and think they have real potential, I fell in love with Phaenoh's baby mods the minute I laid eyes on them, so she gets my vote.

Its cute.
But the bbq was awsome. Even the Headmaster agreed when he gave me 30 food points.

*sniggers :D
But it would be a pity if all the talk of the BBQ overshadowed the victory of the person who finally wins this competition, so why don't we focus on that from now on?

My vote goes to the put away homework mod because that was always something I thought need to be fixed in the game,if I had the talent and the knowledge required to have done it myself I would have done so along time ago.Very! USEfull object, this one,2 thumbs up!
