View Full Version : In trying to convert a custom skintone to a default, I find the fat morph won't convert

I'm converting astiee's Extreme Skins Alien Species skins to defaults for my game. I've never done a default before, but I love these funky aliens (especially the quad-nipple ones).

Anyway, I followed the tutorial and everything works great...except that the male "soft" isn't working properly. Instead, the "fit"/"default" skin appears stretched over the hapless sim's gut.

I went back to the file, opened up amsoft file and checked to make sure I had linked the proper file. I had. I built the file again. No luck.

Is this a common problem? Or do I just suck?

Thanks in advance

Stephanie

Giving the two options you presented I would go with 'you suck' but thats not a very nice way to say things. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Are you making stand alone defaults or linked defaults?

Stand alone defaults. I followed this tutorial exactly, except that I used png files instead of bmp files to make a smaller file.

Build DXT, Commit and Save?

I have hacks in my game. Could that affect it?

Not likely. Could you post up your file, I'll take a look at it. Also, link to the original creation plz.

For future reference, you can attach the files directly using the 'Go Advance' button. I had a hard time getting to your file passed all the popups and redirects. :P

I think they problem is with the template file you started with. Download a different alien default replacement and insert these skins on top. Also, defaults don't need the Mat Def files, just the textures. I couldn't figure it out off the top of my head either so I just suggest start fresh.
