I was working on these earlier in the week (and posted pics on GOS, got some useful feedback), left them alone to finish some other things. I've gone back and redid the highlights and upped the contrast a little. Then by way of experiment put them on a different sclera (anva's lighter one from her legacy eyes). I can't decide though. In Bodyshop I thought it didn't work (but then, I don't like the older ones in Bodyshop either) but in game when they're animating I think I do like them.

I'm working on 'Angelique Collins' from the really old tv show 'Dark Shadows'. It's not perfected, but, a nice start I'd say...
[[Sry the comparison shots are bad, but, I seriously couldn't find any good comparison pictures...at all. ... Oh yea, and, to explain the look...if you know the show, this is actually the hair she had when she was married to some other guy...not a collins (i don't remember the name...but, it was during the time of the laviathians) and the dress looks more identical to something 'Beth' wore]] ...And yeah, b/c of the horrible pics, I don't know how I can possibly make a face mask, because the quality will be real bad.

Some Outfits for your smart sims, I wanna make the ones with the school emblems Default Replacements for the current Private school uniforms (unfortunately I dunno how ><). I am currently trying to convert these for girls, and make some for teen males, and boys. I don't wanna post these till those get done.

I go to private school and I wear either a quarter length or short sleeved white (or light pink) oxford, and a plaid skirt! Sometimes with a grey vest. Or sometimes I mix it up and wear either navy or khaki shorts. Ahh! I'm getting off topic. I love them!

I posted some pictures of the penguin the other day and, as usual, the penguin got several "those eyes are so freaky" and "that penguin looks evil" comments. I didn't take the comments personally - everyone's penguins get those comments. So I decided to make a penguin eye default replacement. I figured it's probably that ice blue colour that has people freaked out. So here is your penguin eye selection:

The multi-PTs looks pretty good. I like that shade of purple. It's just obnoxious enough to be purple but not so obnoxious as to turn people off and be horrible. I think it will look great on most sims. And the Trill edits are looking pretty good, too.

Beatdoc, teehee. The white ones kinda freak me out too but I figured it'd be cool to have, and I could possibly use them for zombie sims. The alien/werewolf hybrid eye, I thought it'd be fun to use regular yellow ones as werewolf default but because werewolf/aliens have a seperate skintone I could use those on that skintone as default (I think they got slightly pixelated on import though, I need to check that with SimPE and fix it if that's the case).

I've been busy learning (and obsessing over) something new today - replacing one Maxis mesh with another. Here is the result: I give you the K&B cleaning lady complete maid replacement! Both the maid hair and maid outfit have been replaced with the K&B bandana hair and the K&B apron outfit. This preview is of only the red bandana and the striped apron, but I have done 3 outfits (swappable) and 5 bandana colours (also swappable).

Its a recolor of a mesh by Callisto on NSF (I love the Mesh!) and I just HAD to make a new texture.. so, Using Maxis chunks and a bit of prodding.. Voila!

I wont be uploading him anywhere (as I don't know how) but I'd love some Constructive Critisism (sp?). I've been working on him for a few hours and I need some fresh eyes to look over him. He just don't look right and I dunno how to fix it lol. He's not the easiest of people to Simify.

His eyes need to be closer together, his nose is a little too thin. Check out some images of Brent Spiner...his nose is slim, but not that tiny. His jaw line could be extended a little more. His eyes need to look a little less squinty....open them up a little. Also find some eyes that are a little more yellow. Data has very yellow eyes. He is looking good....just a bit more tweaking and I think you will have him. I took a good week on my version of Data before I was happy with him.

Tryz Not to laugh too much! :lol: This is my very first successful try [4th try ever ... all 'tries' were attempted today.... So, you can say this is my very first day at creating eyes...] anyway ... my very first successful try at makin' custom eyes. Yeah, they ain't really pretty, but, hey, ... It took me 2 whole hours to do, so, I'm happy, yeah?! Now, yeah, it shouldn't take this long I suppose, but, hey, it was my first time doing an actual project in 'GIMP' , so, it took a bit just to learn where everything was. And, the tutorial was thankfully for GIMP... And, I also had to hand pant everything...And, it's not that good, for one, because after the fact, I realized I'd used the wrong brush type and forgot to 'smudge' ... so, I'll do that next time.... probably tomorrow.... I'm addicted now! Making eyes is pretty fun actually, and I have a whole set I wanna make..... Sure, they'll look waaaaayy better than this though..... As, I hardly knew what I was doing on this try!

OH YEAH... The eyes are circular [the umm... color part...iris?] i guess this really ugly sim just has really wacky eyes....lol. I didn't do any body shop work on her, just stuck my eyes on, gave a name, aspiration, likes/dislikes and stuck her on a lot! So yeah... Just thought I'd mention that....as, they look really bad on this sim.... Well, they look bad anyway, but yeah.... :)

Still not 100% happy with him, but I think it's much better then the last try, nearly there I think. I recoloured some eyes and brows just to use for him aswell :). Anymore tips from anyone.

Where did you find that last one? Because that's actually my mesh that I made, it came in 3 colours (http://wickednoukfamily.com/forums/index.php?topic=695.msg5032#msg5032) (red, green and blue) but it was never uploaded to MTS2 - it was my contribution to a WNF aspiration set earlier in 2008.

If someone's gone and uploaded my work to MTS2 and claimed it as their own, I'd like to know please.

I'm far from an expert on making sims, in fact I'm pretty lousy at it, but my suggestions would be:
- widen the nose just a bit, esp at the tip
- raise the eyebrows just a touch, and perhaps bring the inside ends up just a bit as well to make it more in line with the outside edge
- make the eyes just a little more squinted...not so wide open and big

Other than that it looks pretty good to me. :)

Dustfinger on MTS2 has uploaded some AL conversions of the Tennis Dress but for teens and someone mentioned something about making them into cheerleader dresses, so I've given it ago myself. There's a slight change on the top half of the dress as I had trouble matching up the stripes so I just made it white without the blue on the top. I'm gunna do the black/red dress too but atm I've only done the blue/white.

It's the first thing I do, so i guess that unnatural look is comprehensible. Or excusable. Basically I pasted a sim face on a portrait, by Ingres, and airbrushed the rest of the skin to make it more sim-like. In a lazy way. Meh.

I am still working on the Boy uniforms...I would've been done..but as you can see body shop totally devoured my vest and pants texture on the boy uniform, and now I have to find some way to fix the blur and pixelated mess. Anyone know how to fix it?

Simtastic: that's a cute top. Everyone who makes stuff had to start somewhere. The first piece of CC I ever made never even made it past the testing stage! LOL Not that I make ZOMG! Incredible! stuff, anyway, but I've improved with time and effort. And that top is better than what I made when I first had a go at making stuff :)

I'm making a Light Yagami sim. I was looking at screenshots for reference in building his face, recolored the outfit, and hunted everywhere for the hair (and still not satisfied with it, I wanted to use Myos20 but it's HARD to find recolors for it, let alone shades between light-brown and red..)

Duderocks, I love what you've done to those face templates, and I like how they still look pretty similar to how they were but they are far less ugly.
Falcophoenix, he's looking good so far! May I suggest that you tweak the mouth a little bit? It might look better if it was a little less wide and moved slightly closer to the nose.

The moment I saw Fantasyrogue's new t-shirt mesh (http://fantasyrogue.livejournal.com/27691.html#cutid1), I just HAD to figure out a way to slap on the silly little graphics from these untucked shirts (http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=289030) by Fanseelamb.

They've been a pain in the butt to do, but I think they're almost ready!

I say almost because the guitar one looks a little too stretched out vertically, and although you can't see it from this distance, the green one is extremely pixelated. I'm fixing those right now.

Dude: The faces look great. Face 18 is the Carmen Patch (exterminator) / Gordon King (burglar) face, right? That looks really good. It's a great improvement but remains Maxis-y.

Van: The tees look good. It's hard not to have pixelation on certain pattern and colours.

falco: The sim is looking good. Anime characters can be hard to make into sims and you've done a decent job.

Your Light is not bad at all. However, I would tweak the shape of his eyes and brows a bit. For me it's always essential to get "that look" right [even if this means a Sim's face would get a bit out of proportions].

I like very much #1 and #2, but not #3; and that because it looks like body painting, while the previous ones look more like real clothes. Personally, I have never attempted to create any cc so I have no idea what to suggest to make it look better. I am sorry! :(

kusti: I tend to agree. The shirts are great, but I think that they mainly benefit from the more dense patterns, while the less dense one (like on #3) needs to have more striking colours to work. If you intensified the blue and took the leaf/flower pattern more towards the red range it might work better.

Engram - Yeah I had a problem with the textures behind the pattern, I just couldn't figure how to get them to show through. I think I need to go around the base of the sleeve and around the neck and make the underneith textures show up more.

Still the combination of blue and brown looks very elegant to me. A clearer outline and more intense colours might work wonderful.
