View Full Version : Obsession: The whole ending of the story is up...enjoy!

"Your father and I want to know where you went last night," Isabella's mother confronted her. "You aren't still stalking that poor boy are you?"
"Mother! Driving by his house a couple of times is not stalking!" Isabella responded indignantly.
"Really dear, you might want to focus on something else for a change. Your studies for one. This is your last year of high school and I'd like to see you make it count for something."
"If you'll excuse me, it's time for me to drive to school," the eighteen year old said curtly, heading for the door.
Isabella was barely listening to the teacher. Instead she was doodling in the margins of her history notes and peaking at Anthony out of the corner of her eye. He never once looked back at her nor ever tried to catch her eye, that only happened in Isabella's daydreams and fantasies.
In the lunchroom she sat alone as she always did. She tried to use the period to catch up on her art history homework, but she mostly just watched Anthony and dreamed. One day I will write a story about us...and it will end the way I want it to end. she thought idly.
She saw Anthony and his girlfriend get up and head to the bathrooms together. She waited until they had walked on by her (she caught a hint of conversation and perfume as they did so) and then followed them to the bathroom. She hid inside a stall until she was certain that the girlfriend had finished and had walked back out to meet Anthony. She peeked through the air vents in the door and steeled herself for the most important moment of her life. She had decided that she would tell Anthony how she felt about him this day. Her knees shook and she felt sick at her stomach. She simultaneously felt like she was burning up and freezing. Finally, the girlfriend took her leave of Anthony with a light kiss and started walking to class. Isabella took a deep breath and strode through the door purposely.
She walked right up to Anthony, but she found it hard to speak when she was this close to him. He smelled so good and she was having trouble concentrating.
"Are you feeling all right Isabella?" Anthony asked her. "You look a little pale."
"I'm feeling all right," Isabella mumbled in return. "Hey...do you think that maybe...I mean, are you doing anything Friday night?" Isabella asked her shoes.
"I'm sorry Isabella, but I'm busy all weekend...a family camping trip." Anthony said while slightly rolling his eyes.
"Why do you ask?"
"Um...because...oh! Never mind!" Isabella sputtered while trying to make a quick exit.
"Do you have to read at the table, dear?" Isabella's mother asked her.
"Do you have to try to be creative by serving pancakes for dinner?" Isabella spat back. "And no I don't have to read at the table! In fact I think I am going to the book store to read in peace for a while!" Isabella got up quickly and walked towards the door.
"That's fine, but please don't drive past Anthony's house again. His mother called here today wondering if I was lost because she kept seeing our car drive by." her mother called after her.
Isabella did drive past Anthony's house, but only once. She felt that she was showing great restraint to do so. When she arrived at the bookstore she browsed the science fiction and fantasy isle, until she found a book that looked promising. She sat down to read it.
27th Jun 2006, 8:58 AM
The book was very good and she was so engrossed in it that at first she didn't notice that a man was pretending to look for a book, but was really looking at her. When she did glance up and their eyes met she felt a rush go through her body. She slowly got up and replaced the book on the shelf looking a little warily at him. He strode over to her and remarked," That is a very good book that you were reading...I know because I have read it twice. And who do I have the incredible good fortune of meeting?"
"My, what a gorgeous name. It suits you well."
Isabella mumbled and blushed. No one had ever said anything about her was gorgeous before.
"Would you mind accompanying to the outdoor chess sets? It is such a beautiful night, and it only needs you to be in its starlight to be complete. Besides I haven't played chess with a worthy opponent in such a long while."
Isabella smiled and glanced up at him. She thought she saw something strange about his mouth...just a flash and then it was gone. "I'd love that", she replied. He held out his arm and she slipped hers through it comfortably. He let her out the door and towards the back of the store. Then suddenly he jerked her out of sight of the parking lot and safety and grabbed her arms...holding them against her body.
That was all Isabella had time to say before she felt something like a needle pierce her neck.
She tried to struggle, but she was loosing strength quickly. Distantly she heard a shout and she was quickly dropped.
She fell to the ground weak and lightheaded. She caught a glimpse of a security guard rushing by, but of the mysterious man...there was no trace.
She felt strong arms help lift her back to her feet.
"I have called an ambulance, miss", the security guard informed her as he led her back to the shop. He gently sat her down and brought her a cup of hot chocolate. "You were lucky...he intended to kill you. I was not so lucky. He was gone before I could even draw my weapon. Not that it would have done much good."
Isabella's head still felt wooly and stuffed. "I don't understand wha..." Her head dropped to the table and she spilled her drink.
Isabella woke up in a hospital bed with mother and father waiting anxiously by her side.
"How do you feel, honey?" her father asked nervously.
"I'm not sure..." Isabella replied. "At first I felt awful, but now I actually feel pretty good. In fact I feel better than I ever have before."
Her father shifted his eyes to the doctor nervously. "So that's it, isn't it?" And then he began to sob.
"Dad?! What's the matter? I just said I feel good now. I really think that I'm going to make it. In fact I really don't see the need for me to stay in this room any longer." Isabella said as she started to sit up.
"Not so fast." said the doctor as she gently pushed Isabella back down. "You see, although you may feel fine you've actually contracted a virus from the man that bit you."
"What?! It's not serious is it?" Isabella asked panicked.
"Well I believe it is, but I couldn't tell you for certain because what you have is extremely rare and we only have a handful of cases to go on. I would like to run some more tests," the doctor replied.
"What...what have I got?" Isabella whispered.
"Vampirism." Her mother was the one to reply.
"What the h**l? Are you trying to pull my leg, because if you think I'm going to believe..." She trailed off, suddenly remembering the last thing she saw before the kindly security guard rescued her. The man that had held her and then dropped her had turned into a bat and flown into the night.
That was why the guard couldn't catch him. She quickly racked her brain trying to remember all she knew about vampires from her favorite books and movies.
"Hey, lay back down honey. Try not to exert yourself to much," her father soothed.
"What are you talking about? I'm not sick, I'm a god! Get away from me!" she screamed and her father backed off quickly. She sat up on the edge of the bed and willed herself to fly. At first she felt nothing, but then a peculiar sensation filled her body. She started to feel weightless and distant, but she wasn't a bat. She looked down and screamed, but no one heard because she no longer had a mouth.
Then she squealed with delight (no one heard that either) and flowed through the crack under the window seal and out into the night.
She floated aimlessly at first...her thoughts as aimless as her wanderings (it is hard to think clearly when you are made out of mist). And then she knew where she wanted to go. The place she had wanted to go all of her life and now she could. She could do anything she wanted. She floated softy down to the ground and willed herself to be solid again. Instantly she was.
She knew this shed well. She also knew that in all of her times of watching the house that no one had ever entered it. It was best to be safe though. She tried the latch and turned it easily for her although it was caked with age and rust. She glanced behind her towards the house but there was no one to see. She slipped inside the shed and was suprised to find out that she could see everything clearly although there was not a light to be seen anywhere. She examined the small inside quickly but completely, making sure that there were no cracks or seams that could let in sunlight. She nodded her satisfaction. She heard voices back towards the house and quickly turned around scaring up a mouse in the process. This time when she willed herself to fly she succeeded and she felt her body contract into the size and shape of a bat.
She quickly flew to the side of the house and peeked around. And there he was in all of his beauty.
Her breath caught and she thought I will always be near you now, and no one will be able to stop me.

Creepy! Haha...I like this; it's unique.
27th Jun 2006, 6:34 PM
Thank you SimSagas! That means a lot coming from you. I look for updates to your story every day! :D
I fixed the picture of Isabella turning into mist. I had a "Duh!" moment this morning when I thought, "Why didn't I just use the vampire mist in the game instead of trying to paint it in?!" :) My only excuse if that it was four in the morning when I made that picture! LOL!
Chapter 2 will be up sometime today...I already have the pictures taken.

"Let's go inside and talk, honey," Anthony's mother said, taking her husband's hand. "I feel a chill out here that I don't like."
Anthony followed his parents into the house and started to head toward his room. "Wait a minute. Your father and I need to talk to you," his mother stopped him.
Anthony looked around and asked, "About what?"
"Isabella's parents called here while you were out with Danielle. They wanted to know if you have seen her. It seems that she has gone missing."
"No, I haven't seen her and I don't know why they would think that I had...I barely know the girl," Anthony replied.
"Well, I'm not sure either, she certainly doesn't seem to be a part of your group. Maybe they were trying to be very thorough. Goodness know I would call everyone in town if anything ever happened to you," Anthony's mother shuddered.
"Yeah, that's probably it, mom," Anthony stood up saying. "That's a shame about Isabella though. Lord only knows what kind of creeps there are out there. I hope she is all right."
"I know you will tell us if you hear anything...you're such a good boy," Anthony's mother said pulling him into a hug.
"Mom! Not where people can see!"
"Oh come on! There's no one here but your dad and I'm sure that he is getting ready to do the same thing to you!" she answered with a smile and a wink. Yet when Anthony turned towards the hallway he had the funny feeling that he was being watched.
Isabella listened to this exchange with mixed emotions (every word was as clear as a bell to her ears depsite the fact that she wasn't even in the house with them).
"How can he say that he barely knows me?" she asked herself. "He is all I ever think of." Yet it seemed that he was a little worried about her and that warmed her heart. She willed herself into a bat again and flew from window to window looking for him. She found him in the bathroom drawing his bath.
She felt a blush creeping to her cheeks (well as much as a bat's cheeks can color), yet she certainly didn't look away and her eyes drank in what she had never seen before, but imagined countless times.
When he was done bathing he went into his room to study. Now most people would be bored watching someone reading (there isn't much to see besides the turning of pages), but Isabella stared enrapt.
She studied the soft fall of his hair, wondering what it would feel like to run her fingers through it. She amazed over how brilliantly green his eyes were. How could any girl look at them and not fall in love?
When he was done, he put his books away and pulled out his cell phone mumbling," It shouldn't be too late to call her...she is a night owl after all." He quickly dialed and put the phone to his ear, waiting expectantly.
27th Jun 2006, 8:27 PM
When the call was answered a smile lit up his face that both set Isabella on fire and chilled her to the bone.
"Danielle! I'm so glad I didn't wake you! I'd hate to ruin your beauty sleep...not that you need it!" he chuckled at his lame joke.
"How are you doing, love?"
"Me? I just got done studying and I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to hear your voice again."
"Yeah, I hope she shows up or is found before school tomorrow too. Her parents must be out of their mind with worry."
"What do you mean the real reason I called you? Isn't having your melodious voice filling my ear enough?" Anthony laughed. "OK, OK...to be honest I've been getting the creeps all night. I don't know why, but I keep feeling like I'm being watched."
"Fine then, laugh...see if I ever tell you any of my deep, dark secrets again," Anthony teased.
"Yeah it probably is just the news about Isabella that's doing it. I mean who knows if some psycho stalked and then killed her." Anthony answered shivering.
"OK. I'll see you in class then. I love you so much. Don't ever forget that." Anthony hung up the phone and started dressing for bed.
His last words hung about Isabella's head like a dark cloud. Such love and sincerity had filled his voice at the end. It made her want to scream. She solidified and dug her fingers into her hair and pulled, tearing out bloody clumps. She ran down the street and lifted up into the air without missing a beat.
She held her drink in a death grip, but she didn't drink it.
She was thirsty...hungry even, but not for alcohol or food. Her eyes restlessly scanned the downtown crowd.
She was thankful she didn't see anyone she knew. Then her eyes settled on a young man in the corner sitting alone.
It's not that looked much like Anthony, but his brown hair and green eyes drew her gaze again and again. When the man got up to leave she waited a few minutes, paid her tab and then left herself.
She misted behind him until they were on a deserted street together.
She materialized behind him and as quick as lightening she grabbed him and held him close.
He struggled and he was strong (he would have gotten free easily if she was still human), but she was stronger. She bit hard ignoring his scream of pain and greedily drank the blood that came gushing out.
When he was drained she let him fall to the ground, dead.
For a brief instant in the faint light he looked like Anthony to her and this time she did scream, a primal scream full of pain. Knowing that it would probably attract anyone within a mile, Isabella took to the air.
When she got back to Anthony's house she slipped inside as silent as the grave and misted into Anthony's room. He was sleeping peacefully and her breath stopped at the sight of him.
She reached out to caress him, but pulled her hand away at the last moment.
"I will never hurt you, my love. Never," she whispered not knowing that there were worse ways to hurt someone than biting them and that she would inflict them all.

28th Jun 2006, 8:55 PM
"I'm so proud of you, Anthony. I knew you could get into Harvard if you tried. And before you know it we will have a new first rate OB-GYN here in town," Anthony's mother said while hugging him goodbye.
"Aw, mom. I'm going to study really hard and try not to let Danielle distract me to much." Anthony grinned.
"You guys are getting pretty serious, aren't you?"
"Yeah mom...there aren't any plans of marriage yet, but I'm pretty sure that she is the one." Anthony answered as he gathered his suitcases and headed towards the door. "I love you guys! Goodbye!" He tried to make a quick exit before his parents saw the sheen of tears in his eyes. He wouldn't want them to know that he was homesick already.
Isabella watched from a nearby tree and when Anthony pulled out of the driveway, she took to wing and followed.
"Danielle! Oh I am so glad to see you!" Anthony exclaimed pulling her into a hug.
"I just can't believe that you talked me into going to Harvard with you. I'm going to have to study twice as hard as you to keep up." Danielle said against his shoulder.
"Aw...stop being so modest. You're going to be running intellectual circles around me here, just like you did back home."
Anthony started towards the dorm with a smile. "Well are you going to show your old man around our new home, or what?"
A dorm at the start of a new semester is a hectic and crowded place. No one noticed the black haired girl slipping into the fray and quickly making her way to the basement. She poked around until she found what appeared to be an unused storage closet.
It wasn't as good of a hiding place as the shed behind Anthony's house, but she was willing to make sacrifices to be near him.
While the new students started getting accustomed to the pace and demands of college life, Isabella spent the nights spying on Anthony, feeding, and painting (not always in that particular order).
She made sure that she never killed anywhere on the campus, the last thing she needed was to raise the suspicions of the local police force.
When Anthony had class at night, she was there.
She watched him with pride when he answered hard questions, and asked intelligent ones in return. It was funny, but in high school she never really noticed or cared that he was smart...she was more focused on how he looked. She felt that her love for him was maturing and that she was starting to love him as a woman loves a man, not as a girl crushes on a boy.
It was hard to watch him when he wasn't in class though, because he spent every other moment with Danielle. They studied together, whispering and giggling at secrets and jokes that only they knew.
They were always kissing and touching each other, although they hadn't slept together yet (much to Isabella's relief).
One night as she was watching them together in the library, she was startled by a tap on her shoulder.
28th Jun 2006, 8:56 PM
"Hello." said the young man behind her. "You know, I've been watching you for a while and I do believe I haven't once seen you pick up a book. Why go to the library if you aren't going to study...or at least sleep?" he laughed pointing to a guy snoring loudly on a couch.
"Um...excuse me." Isabella tried to walk towards the door, but the man put a hand on her shoulder to stop her.
"I'm sorry...that was kind of rude. My name is Chad. I have to admit that the real reason I came over was not to scold you, but to tell you that you've got something about you that attracted me from across the room."
Isabella twisted in his grasp remembering the last time a man complimented her...and what happened after. Yet she was the one with the power now. Why should she be afraid? She stopped struggling and straightened up.
"My name is Isabella," she said looking him square in the eye. "You know, I find you attractive too," she lied. "Why don't we get some pizza together...my treat."
"Wow! Sure!" Chad said, delighted that she seemed to like him. "You know, I don't always have much luck with girls, but you're different...direct. I like that. A girl shouldn't be shy to take what she wants."
Isabella decidedly steered him towards the back door in case Anthony hadn't left yet. "Oh, I have no problem taking what I want. Just let's stop by my dorm really quick and I'll slip on something more appropriate for the occasion."
Isabella found it hard to keep the fake smile plastered on her face while Chad droned on and on about his life. Suddenly he looked up and exclaimed, "You haven't eaten a bite all night. Aren't you hungry?"
"I don't know...I have so many butterflies in my stomach right now that I don't think I could keep anything down."
"Wow! Do I have that effect on you? That's really neat." Chad said as he reached out to caress her hand.
She almost cringed away at his touch, but she closed her eyes and imagined that it was Anthony stroking her fingers and her breathing steadied. It worked, she was even able to caress him back with Anthony's face in her mind.
She thought of what else they might do together while she pictured her true love and decided that she wouldn't kill him tonight.
When he hugged her goodbye, he pulled her close and whispered in her ear, "I know your secret."
She jerked away, thinking that he meant her obsession with Anthony.
"I knew you were a vampire the moment I saw you. I have to admit that is what attracted me to you. I've always had a thing for dangerous ladies." Chad smiled rakishly. "But you wouldn't really hurt me, would you?"
"Oh, no." Isabella lied. "You know there are a lot of misconceptions about vampires out there. We aren't all cold blooded killers." She caressed his cheek with a slight shudder of revulsion and thought, As soon as you are done satisfying my fantasies, you will satisfy my hunger.

:O wow. shocking! he's like psychic! awesome story!!!
28th Jun 2006, 9:22 PM
Oooooh this is gettin good!
28th Jun 2006, 10:30 PM
Oh boy, it seems Chad has vampirism as a turn on, and it's a turn on he might regret. Isabella has gone so far to stalk Anthony that she followed him to college! Crazy! If I were Isabella I probably would have given up on Anthony by now, especially since he seems to be pretty tight with Danielle. I can't wait to see how this story turns out! Good job! :3dcool:
28th Jun 2006, 10:39 PM
I find it funny he wants to be a OBGYN, lol..I always wonder why men go into the field.....I guess Isabella's pasty white skin dosen't give anything away...:D..great update, she is really starting to creep me out!
28th Jun 2006, 11:39 PM
Wow! I loved your story, I can't wait for more, its getting so good, I didn't want it to end! Isabella has some issues...did she ever return home..?
29th Jun 2006, 12:05 AM
Just to clear something up...Isabella isn't playing with a full deck if you all get what I mean. :D And even though she is the main character, she's decidedly not a traditional protagonist...in fact one might say that she is the antagonist and Anthony is the protagonist although he isn't the main character.
She never did return home. What she wanted wasn't there and she had no desire to go back. Her poor parents are pretty ate up about it too. :(
I'm glad that everyone is enjoying this. I must say that I'm having a great time writing from the point of view of someone that is most definitely neurotic. Wait until you see some of the things I have planned for the future (insert wicked laugh here). :D
29th Jun 2006, 6:51 AM
I can't wait for the next chapter!
29th Jun 2006, 6:33 PM
(There are some sexual situations in this chapter. Nothing explicit is shown.)
Anthony was sleeping deeply when she floated in. How would it be just to touch his soft skin, Isabella wondered after materializing.
She amazed over the fact that she had never even touched him before. Her whole body trembled at the thought, but she knew that any caress (no matter how light) would wake him. Then she formed into mist again, with the intent to leave. Yet something held her back. Could she touch him like this? Surely the touch of a gentle mist wouldn't disturb his slumber.
She slid over his sleeping form and softly settled down. It wasn't like touching him with her hands...the feeling was more distant, nebulous. Yet something surprising happened. As she sank into him she seemed to become one with him. She could even faintly see what he was dreaming! A shiver of delight trilled through her formless body. Suddenly he shifted and murmured in his sleep..."Isabella?"
"I'm here love," she replied. She willed herself to merge more fully with him, but he started thrashing and gasping for air. He quickly sat up in bed bathed in sweat.
Isabella slipped out of the window before his eyes cleared enough to see the room.
"I'm telling you, I can't remember what the nightmare was about...but it was really bad," Anthony told a sympathetic Danielle over breakfast. "I swear it felt like I was smothering to death."
Danielle shuddered. "I hate those kind of dreams," she whispered.
"Yeah, I've had dreams like that before too, but this time it felt different. Even after I was awake, I felt like that I had narrowly escaped death." He shook his head. "I know that sounds weird. Maybe all the stress of school is finally getting to me."
"Maybe you should see a doctor about it...Now don't shake you head at me, mister. For wanting to become a doctor, you sure have a dislike for going to one," Danielle teased.
"Oh come on! What am I suppose to say? That I had a bad dream where I felt like I was dying? You even said so yourself that everyone has those dreams."
"Well if it happens again, will you at least consider it? I'm worried about you." Danielle said as they got up.
"OK, boss lady. You know that I can't refuse to do anything when you look at me like that."
"This is a...um...really nice place you have here, Isabella," Chad said with a look around the dingy storage room.
"Hey, isn't that the missing chair from the community room? HaHa! I was wondering where it went!" he exclaimed as he sat down. "Ow! It sure is." he answered himself as he rubbed the sore area where the spring had got him. He stood up. "Seriously though, This is great that you are showing me your sleeping area. That shows real trust. I mean vampires are the most vulnerable during the day, right? You trust me enough not to traipse in here one morning and pull you out into the sunlight," he chuckled.
"Well of course I trust you," Isabella lied in return. "It's kind of a truce of sorts, I suppose. I don't feed on you, and you don't drag me into the sun."
"Yeah that's it. Wow, we have a pretty cool relationship...don't we?" Chad asked as he reached out to touch her cheek. She was getting better with not cringing at his touch. She had a lot of practice at it. "Hey, why don't you come up to my dorm tonight. I have a really cool new game for the computer. I think you'd like it."
"Hmmmm...I'll think about it," Isabella replied sitting down to read, knowing full well that the new game wouldn't be the only thing she saw if she went to his room tonight.
"Well, don't think too long. The night, she is a wastin'." Chad smiled as he left. The moment he was gone Isabella turned into mist and floated to Anthony's room. She just had to try out the new trick she learned last night again.
"Well I'll leave you and your term paper alone tonight, dear." Anthony said as he prepared to leave.
"OK..." Danielle said a little uncertainly. She didn't want to admit it to Anthony, but after their talk that morning she was a sort of afraid to be alone. "I'll see you tomorrow morning."
29th Jun 2006, 6:34 PM
Anthony walked back to his room as scared as Danielle was. He was afraid that if he went to sleep again, he would have the same terrifying dream that he had the night before. He picked up a book and started studying, trying to hold going to bed off as long as possible.
A soft knock at the door startled him and he cleared his voice and asked, "Who is it?"
"It's me, Anthony." Danielle's voice drifted through.
Anthony stood up to put his book away. "Well, come on in," he said opening the door. "Since when do you knock?"
"Well, I was afraid you'd be asleep."
"I'm hoping to avoid that state tonight," Anthony grinned sitting back down on the bed.
"Oh, Anthony. I'm so worried about you. You're so level-headed and practical. It's not like you to have flights of fantasy...which leaves the very scary alternative." Danielle said as she sat next to him.
"What? That I'm crazy?" Anthony laughed.
"No, not that. What if you are..." She trailed off when he kissed her.
"You're so cute when you care," He said breathlessly between kisses.
"You're only saying that to get me in bed with you," she teased back. "Uh oh! It looks like it worked!" she laughed in his embrace.
Isabella stared at the unfolding scene rooted to the spot. A strange mixture of devastation and arousal coursed through her veins. She watched them making love unable to turn away until she heard Anthony sweetly sigh, "I love you, Danielle." Then the devastation won out. She instantly transformed and flew to Chad's room.
She found him on the computer and solidified next to him.
"Isabella!" he screamed startled. "Don't sneak up on me like that. It's freaky!"
"You once told me that a girl shouldn't be afraid to take what she wants. So here I am." She grabbed him and kissed him hard. His body stiffened at first afraid that she was going to bite him instead of kiss him, but he relaxed once he understood what it was that she wanted.
She pulled him towards the bed and laid him down kissing him passionately.
When he took her in his arms she closed her eyes and imagined that it was Anthony. She ran her fingers through his short, black (no, long and brown) hair and pulled him close. "Oh, Anthony," she moaned.
He pulled away from her. "What did you just call me?" he asked already getting up.
"Only the best compliment that you will ever be paid," she sweetly spat, following him out of the bed.
He glared at her quickly getting dressed. "Get out of here."
"Oh it's too late for that, dear. I'm not going anywhere." And then she grabbed him and bit him feeling a satisfaction more potent than the one she just experienced flooding her body.
29th Jun 2006, 9:28 PM
wow...great chapter. I feel sorry for isabella but now she's going insane...can't wait for chapter five!

Chad...noooooooo! Good update! Is Chad really dead? I'm just guessing he is since Isabella's first victim died. If Chad isn't dead...well then he has to find that orb from the aspiration rewards and make vampirism a turn off instead of a turn on! :jk: You do know which object I'm talking about right? Looking forward to your next update!
30th Jun 2006, 9:10 PM
Sadly, Chad is dead. :( In my story vampires kill the people they feed off of, unless they very purposely refrain from drinking all of their blood or are scared away before they can finish (that is what happened when Isabella was bit).
The story is going to be 10 (maybe 11) chapters long, so if I keep updating every day it will be over in a few days.
Is everyone still enjoying it? I know it is rather dark, so it may not be to everyone's taste. If no one is still liking it though I may slow my posting of the chapters. It takes a lot of time for me to take the pictures (it's just not something that I'm very good at), but if you all still want me too I'll post a chapter everyday. I do plan to see the story through even if no one reads it, just because I know what is going to happen and I want to finish it.
1st Jul 2006, 12:23 AM
I just read it all, and I think its cool. I like dark stories, so yeah. You get my point, lol. Isabella is kinda creeping me out. Can't wait until next update :)

"What's bothering you, Danielle?" Anthony asked, concerned.
"I don't know...I've been having a bad feeling I can't shake ever since that kid was killed in his room. I mean, I know the police say it is safe to return now...It should be the safest place on whole campus now with all of the police that are watching it." Danielle whispered frightened.
Anthony gently led her to the couch. "I've been thinking...I've saved up some money and I think I'd only have to borrow a little from my parents to be able to rent a house." He looked at her hoping this news would help her feel better.
"Really?" she asked wiping her eyes. "You must have scraped together every spare penny."
"Well, to be honest I haven't been very comfortable living in the dormitory since the murder either."
"Thank you, Anthony. You are such a dear." she sighed as she snuggled closer to him.
"We'll start looking for our new home tomorrow."
Anthony couldn't concentrate on his studies that evening. It wasn't just the murder that was keeping his mind occupied. He felt that he was becoming more and more paranoid with each passing night. He started checking his room every night before going to bed, certain that there was someone hiding somewhere in it. It was a ridiculous thought and he tried to blame his paranoia on the recent killing, but deep in his heart he knew that wasn't it. He had felt spied on and observed for a couple of years now. In fact he couldn't even remember exactly when it had started...some time in high school. He searched his brain for a more definite time (trying to remember the event that set it off), but he couldn't come up with anything. He often teased Danielle telling her that he was probably going crazy, but inside he feared that he really was.
There! Anthony looked up at the window when a sudden movement caught his eye. He quickly got up and strode to the window, but he only got a glimpse of blackness before the scene outside his window was barren of life again.
He shook his head and started for bed, more worried than ever.
"Oh, Anthony! It's so perfect!" Danielle delightedly exclaimed, looking around their new home.
Anthony was pleased that she was so excited about their house. He too was happy to start over in a new place and he hoped that whatever had haunted him in the dorm wouldn't follow him here. "I'm glad you like it!" he grunted as she threw herself into his arms.
Danielle was happy. Anthony was happy. Yet there was someone that wasn't happy with the new arrangements. "This place doesn't even have a basement. There's not one decent place to hide in this d**n house," Isabella cursed after searching the house high and low. She had lost her storage room in the dorm after she had killed Chad. In the heat of the moment she had quite forgot the reason she never fed on the campus. Isabella had to flee the dorm before it was closed and searched for evidence. Even after the dorm was opened back up for the students, Isabella didn't feel safe returning there because it was watched night and day. She had been spending the last few weeks holed up in some God-forsaken shack on the edge of town. The distance and the fact that it was harder for her to have free reign of the dorm, had made her recent visits to Anthony less frequent and shorter. She had been thrilled at first when she found out that he was moving, but now she was bitterly disappointed with his choice in houses. She would have to call the shack home for a little longer.
To make herself feel better she drifted up the couple's room hoping to settle on Anthony's sleeping body again.
Before she could float over to him though, he woke up with a start. "Who's here!" he demanded groggily. In her panic, Isabella shrank into a bat and fled. Anthony rubbed his eyes trying to clear them, certain that he had just seen a bat fly from his room.
He spent the next night pouring over books and web sites trying to find out the cause of his problems.
He came to two conclusions, not sure which was true and secretly hoping neither was. He either was going crazy, or he was being haunted by some malign spirit. Yet he hadn't read a case about a ghost that followed a person from house to house. They tended to stick to one place. Anthony told no one (not even Danielle) his fears, but he hoped that now they shared the same room he could get a clearer understanding of what was happening to him. If Danielle felt the presence too, then they were being haunted...but if she didn't it meant he truly was going insane.
"What a wicked grin you have tonight," Danielle laughed at Anthony after she cleared the dinner dishes.
"Why don't you come join me and find out what it is about?" Anthony grinned barely able to suppress his happiness. Danielle sat next to him expectantly. "Hmmmm...what is this in my pocket?" Anthony asked himself as he placed a velvet box on the table. Danielle gasped and started to cry a little.
"Is that what I think it is?"
"Open it and find out silly!" The look on her face as she pulled out her engagement ring was enough to banish Anthony's dark thoughts of the past week.
She happily sobbed and threw her arms around him. "Yes!" she wept and laughed at the same time.
That night as the two lovers slept in each other's arms a black shadow slipped into the room. Isabella glared at Danielle with pure hate contorting her pale features.
"It would be so easy to take your life," she furiously whispered. "And nothing would give me greater pleasure. Yet, I stay my hand. Can you imagine why?" Isabella asked Danielle's sleeping form. "For him." she spat shifting her gaze to Anthony. "You live, because to kill you would bring him pain and I once made him a promise...a promise I will keep. So you see, you are alive because of love. I love him enough not to kill the one person I most desire to. And if that isn't true love, then I don't know what is."

[begin pity party ;) ]Awww...only four stars now. :( I really want people to enjoy my story. Does anyone have any suggestions to make it better? It seems that this story just isn't attracting a lot of interest and that disapoints me. Oh well, I guess there isn't much I can do about it.[end pity party]
And to the few people who said they like it, thank you.

I've noticed that there are a lot of stories on here right now as well. Plus there were were two big updates on two of the most popular stories on here. I guess I can't compete with that. I wonder if I should just not post for a while until the forum dies down...I really don't want to do that though now that I am on a roll. I'll have to think about it.
To rate a story, press where the stars are when you are in the story thread. A menu with all of the ratings you can give should come down. Let me know if that helped!

HeeHee! Nothing good can come of Isabella seeing that can it? I'm glad everybody is still enjoying it! I wanted to post a chapter today, but my in-laws were over all day and I was too tired to do it tonight. I will definitely get it up sometime tomorrow though!
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it!

Danielle sat in her garden worrying over how to tell Anthony the news.
She had received the call from her doctor today and the tests and recommendations were in.
She and Anthony were infertile. She had expected as much for the past two years now. They had started trying for a baby years ago with no luck. She had even hopefully decorated a nursery last year, but it stayed as barren as she did. She often went there in the mornings thinking of how empty it looked, missing the occupant it was intended for.
Today her doctor suggested that they try in vitro fertilization. Danielle knew that the chances of her getting pregnant weren't a hundred percent, but she felt hope stir in her heart again. She hoped Anthony felt the same, but she worried how he might take the news. He was stressed all of the time and Danielle knew it wasn't just from work. Even though he never told her much of what was happening to him, Danielle had her suspicions. He slept poorly every night, often waking up from nightmares and unable to go back to sleep. He wouldn't eat and would often aimlessly walk through the house checking doors, windows, closets, even under their bed.
Danielle wasn't sure what he was searching for, but she was deeply worried about him. When ever she tried to bring up the subject with him he closed up, not telling her anything. Yes, she was worried about how he would take the news.
The years wore hard on Anthony and he began looking more and more like what he was, a haunted man.
His eyes always wore dark circles and he nervously paced and fidgeted, unable to sit still. He spent long hours at the clinic, staying late even after all of the other staff had left. He didn't feel watched as much here in his office as he did at home.
He wondered if Danielle suspected a different motive for his late nights though. He hoped not, because he would never cheat on her or do anything to hurt her. What time he did spend at home he used to pour over books, still trying to find out what was wrong with him.
Yet though he read more and more obscure books on all sorts of paranormal phenomenon, he was no closer to his answer.
Isabella was unable to move into Anthony's house with him, though it had a wonderful basement. With Anthony always prowling the house at night, she had no where she could hide. She had to again settle for an abandoned building.
She despised living in such filth and she often thought about Danielle living in the beautiful house with her husband.
Oh how she hated Danielle! She had everything that Isabella wanted and deserved. Danielle could never love Anthony as much as she did! Isabella left her shack and flew to Anthony's house for her nightly spying.
"Honey, there is something I need to tell you," Danielle said gently taking Anthony's hand. "We're not going to be able to have a baby on our own. We're going to need help."
Disturbed by the vacant look in Anthony's eyes she hurriedly went on. "Doctor Beth said she is sending us to the best place in the city. All they do is infertility treatments. They have a very high success rate." Danielle looked at him on the verge of tears. "What do you think about that, love?" she asked nervously.
"That's fine. Do what you want to," Anthony answered distractedly, eyes darting to the window.
Isabella could barely suppress her joy!
Oh how easy it would be. Her mind quickly raced through a plan. She knew that whenever she went to the doctor when she was still human, ID was never checked. It was just assumed you were who you said you were. She would have to steal Danielle's insurance card, yes...but that would be no mean feat. There were two big obstacles left. The implantation would take place during the day. She thought she could swing that as long as she spent an extremely limited time in the sunlight and kept the whole excursion under two hours. She would have to test it before the big day. The other problem was to create a distraction big enough that Danielle would miss her appointment for something she dearly wanted done.
Isabella thought and thought, and then a smile slowly spread over her face. She knew what she had to do!
Her heart leapt at the thought of carrying Anthony's baby! It was really going to happen! She transformed into a bat and quickly flew into town. Luckily, the night was young and for that she was glad. She had a lot of work to do this night.
She had to prepare a room for the baby that she would soon have.
3rd Jul 2006, 8:17 PM
Oh now it's getting good! Throw a baby or two in and you'll have me hooked. :)
3rd Jul 2006, 8:35 PM
Very good updates! This story is still really good, I'm getting the feeling the next chapter will be a big one! For some reason I now keep thinking Isabella speaks with a French accent, especially when Isabella talked to Danielle while Danielle was sleeping at the end of chapter 5.
3rd Jul 2006, 9:07 PM
Oh my! this is a REALLY good story! And dark! And creepy! *shudder* But nice. Good job! :D
And one question! How did you get them posed like this? Anthony comforting her? :einstein
3rd Jul 2006, 9:30 PM
Yayy. I'll rate this story 5 stars. =)
3rd Jul 2006, 9:58 PM
And one question! How did you get them posed like this? Anthony comforting her?
I used "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" to spawn Paul's Reaction Tester. It looks like a yellow box. Then I clicked on it and chose the option "consolable cry". After Danielle was crying Anthony had the option to comfort her. There are a lot of other great reactions in the box too. Did that help?
Thanks for all of your comments everyone! I really like to see what people think of my story. There are only four chapters left (I never intended it to be a really long story), but I think there are still a couple of surprises left!
3rd Jul 2006, 10:06 PM
Isabella's crossing the line..but I like the jump forward in time. I still feel sorry for Isabella thoguh, her entire world revolves around the guy she loves but doesn't love her in return.

This is an awesome story! Your picture taking is great and I think that it's a great twist from the normal love story to have someone twisted and just a hair from insanity. I can't wait to read the next chapter :D

Thank you for the tip! ;)
Now, let me start the chant "update! update! update!" :D
5th Jul 2006, 10:59 PM
I could kick my own butt! I accidently deleted my neighborhood that my story sims were in! I'm going to have to make them again! They should look fairly similar. Luckily, all of the sims I make share the same face template. Give me a day or so and I'll have the new chapter up.
Sorry for the delay, guys!
5th Jul 2006, 11:44 PM
This story is awesome, its very well written :) Sorry to hear about your neighborhood!
6th Jul 2006, 9:49 AM
sorry to hear about what happen to ur neighborhood....i love the story thought....hope you get everything up and running soon....
7th Jul 2006, 5:49 PM
OK, I am updating as we speak. I tried to get all of the sims and scenery to look like it did before. I don't know if I quite succeeded (Isabella especially, she is prettier than she was before), but I was mostly going on memory. Hopefully it is good enough. OK, here comes chapter seven!
7th Jul 2006, 6:12 PM
"Do you have your insurance card with you?" Anthony asked Danielle stepping out of the shower. "I don't want you to loose it again."
"Yes, it is right here in my purse. Just like my last one. I swear I never took it out...I still don't know what happened to it," Danielle replied, applying her blush. She heard the phone ringing downstairs.
"I'll get it, honey. Just keep getting dressed," Danielle said heading for the bedroom door. She was so excited, because today was the big day. She still had worries about whether the procedure would work, but she was mostly happy. She just couldn't dampen her hope that they might soon be parents.
"Hello?" Danielle inquired, putting the receiver to her ear.
Anthony finished dressing and followed Danielle downstairs. This was a happy day for him too, and he sneaked up behind Danielle hoping to surprise her with a hug.
"What did you just say?" Danielle asked the phone, her voice dead with shock. The phone fell from her hand and clattered to the dining room floor.
Anthony picked it up and put it to his ear. "Yes...yes...ok...I understand. Of course we'll make the arrangements. She had no one else." He hung the phone back up and took Danielle into his arms.
"I just can't believe it. Who would murder my mother?" she sobbed into his shoulder. Anthony stroked her hair thinking of the news that upset him the most. He would never tell Danielle, but her mother was entirely drained of blood. What a cruel and hideous thing to do.
"Who are you calling, dear?" Anthony gently asked as Danielle pulled away and reached for the phone.
"There's no way I can make our appointment today," she said wiping her eyes and dialing the clinics's number. "I'm in no condition for it."
Isabella waited on the table nervously.
She loosened the collar about her neck. She was burning up and she could feel a fire raging under her skin. She wiggled on the exam table and prayed that the doctor would hurry up.
"Ok, we're just about ready, Danielle," the doctor said while slipping on a rubber glove. "I do want to reiterate that I want you to take an iron supplement every day. I've never seen a patient as anemic as you before."
Isabella smiled thinking that her iron levels would be fine tonight after she fed. After the implantation the doctor told her to make sure that she made an appointment for next week for a follow-up. Isabella practically ran out of the office feeling more light headed woozy by the minute. She didn't stop to make the appointment. There was no way that she would ever show her face in this clinic again. If she miscarried she would just have to deal with it on her own.
7th Jul 2006, 6:14 PM
"Are you sure you want to make another appointment so soon?" a worried Anthony asked Danielle. "We can wait as long as you'd like. There's no rush, dear."
"Yes, this is something that I...we...have wanted for a long time. I know my mother would have wanted us to go ahead and try to have a baby too. I'm so sorry that she didn't live to see her grandchild." Danielle sadly sighed. She picked up the phone and dialed.
"Hello, I would like to reschedule my appointment with Dr. Bryan."
"This is Danielle Johnson. I am a patient of his."
"What do you mean I already had my appointment. I'm sorry, but my mother died that day...I wasn't there."
"Yes, there must have been a mix-up," Danielle said clutching the phone, hoping that all of this could be sorted out. "This appointment is very important to me."
"Are you serious?! What did she look like?"
"Thank you...thank you." She breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, I'll do whatever I can to help you sort all of this out. I have all the documentation that you could need...birth certificate, marriage license, driver's license. OK, I'll bring it all with me." Danielle hung up the phone shaking.
"What was that all about?" Anthony asked.
"You won't believe this, but someone posing as me already went to have the in vitro fertilization," Danielle answered.
"What the h**l?!" Anthony cursed. "Did the doctor actually implant one of our embryos into this stranger?!" he asked incredulous.
"The receptionist didn't know. She didn't know really anything about the situation. She's getting it looked into. She said the girl had my insurance card! Can you believe it?! How could she have gotten it?! It was in my purse the whole time!"
Anthony worriedly looked towards the window, licking his lips. At least he now knew that he wasn't having delusions...not that it made him feel any better. "What did the girl look like?" he asked not knowing whether he really wanted to know. What if it was someone at work that was stalking him and his family? There were a couple of nurses that had made advances on him...advances that he had refused. What a mess!
"The receptionist said she was very pale, in fact she thought she was ill. She had long black and curly hair. She couldn't remember anything else about her. She didn't really take that good of look, you know...she thought it was business as usual."
Something tugged at the back of his mind at the mention of black, curly hair. Did he know someone like that once? Certainly the description didn't fit anyone he knew presently. He started making his nightly round of the house. This time checking with more earnestness. Now, he knew there was someone spying on him and a someone that was quite possibly crazy.
Isabella went into labor at home (if the piece of crap she lived in could honestly be called that) and thankfully at night.
She didn't dare go to the only hospital in town to have her baby. It was the hospital Anthony worked at. She had spent what time she wasn't feeding or looking at Anthony at home reading every medical book she could find that mentioned how to deliver a baby. She thought she would do OK. The labor hurt, but not as bad as she had imagined. She thought that it was probably the fact that she was a vampire that helped. She certainly didn't have the usual pregnancy complaints that other women had. She never had morning sickness, and she didn't have any aches or pains. In fact the only real difference that she felt (besides her ballooning stomach) was that she was often ravenously hungry and had to feed twice a night instead of once.
Once she felt the desire to push she squatted and held her hands underneath her to catch the baby. Since she was supernaturally strong, it only took two pushes to birth the baby. She cut the umbilical cord and washed the baby in the sink.
She put a diaper on him and held him close. She looked him over closely to see what he looked like.
She was thrilled that he had his father's brown hair and beautiful green eyes. She was so worried that the baby would carry some feature of Danielle's (Oh, how Isabella detested her flame red hair and violet eyes!), but there was no trace of Danielle in her son. She looked into his eyes and gave him the only name that she could possibly give him since he was a boy. Anthony.
She snuggled him close and whispered, "Anthony made you, and I will raise you. Together we will make the most wonderful child ever."

So she's ... going to have babies with her baby?
8th Jul 2006, 2:03 AM
HeeHee! Isabella is wonderfully evil isn't she?! But still a little sympathetic I hope. Maybe not.
Anyway, I went ahead and wrote the last chapters. They weren't as long as I thought they would be, so I thought I would go ahead and post all the rest of the story sometime tonight. All I have to do now is to take the pictures. Some of them will be so tricky to set up, that I might not be able to do it, but I will give it my best shot.
Then we can all finally let this story sink to the bottom of the forum which I'm sure will delight some people to no end. :) I'm sorry I was such a whiny writer guys. My whining isn't directed to anyone that has posted in my thread, because obviously all of you like it. I just wish it had gotten more attention. Oh well, it was probably a crappy story anyway.
OK, stay tuned to this thread for the whole last bit of my story! Like I said it should be up sometime tonight.

Woah...its getting scary and creepy....at first I felt sorry for Isabella but now...please update soon!
8th Jul 2006, 4:36 AM
Isabella was true to her word and raised Anthony as well as she could, even rising during the day to care for him despite the pain it caused her. She only did the bare necessities during the day, but the night was theirs.
She played with him and lavished every attention on him.
There was nothing that he wished for that he didn't receive. Of toys, clothes and attention he certainly didn't lack, but Isabella refused to let him come into contact with any other living person. It was easy at first. As a toddler Anthony certainly didn't want much else other than his mother's devotion, but as he grew he also grew more discontented.
"Momma, why can't I ride the big yellow bus like I see the other kids do?" Anthony asked one night as his mother served him dinner.
"Were you peaking out of the windows when I was sleeping again? How many times do I have to tell you not to do that? It's dangerous!" Isabella scolded.
"But why is it dangerous, Momma? It doesn't hurt when I look out and the other children seem to enjoy it. I always see them outside playing in the sun," Anthony said as he pushed his food around on his plate.
"You know that the sun hurts Momma. It could hurt you too. I don't want to take the risk." Isabella said stroking his soft hair...hair that she made sure to style like his father's.
"Is my daddy a vampire too?" Anthony asked.
"No, but I could have passed down my intolerance of the light to you. It's too great of a risk to take."
"When can I see my daddy?" Anthony asked pointedly.
Isabella thought it over.
While she took Anthony everywhere she went (whether it was to feed or spy) she never let him get close to his father's house. Not only was she afraid that he wouldn't be able to hide as quickly as she when the need arose, but she was afraid of the questions it might raise in her child's mind. Yet, she couldn't keep him from the truth forever.
"OK, tonight when I go to your father's house you won't have to hide in the bushes. I'll let you see," Isabella finally answered.
"Hurray! Can we go now?!" Anthony hurriedly asked, bouncing in his chair.
"Not until you finish your spaghetti, mister." Isabella smiled.
What does my daddy look like?" Anthony asked shoving in big mouthfuls so he could get done quickly.
"Why he is as beautiful as you are dear," she answered.
"Now, look quickly. We don't want to be seen." Isabella whispered in Anthony's ear as she boosted him up to the window.
The boy looked in and whispered back, "Is that really him? Who is that lady in there with him?"
Isabella lowered him back down to the ground and pulled him towards the bushes behind the house. "Yes, that is really him and that woman that is with him is certainly no lady."
"Why don't you live with daddy anymore? Don't you want to be around him? Is it because I was born?" Anthony innocently asked.
"No, not at all sweety. Your father doesn't even know you are here. He'd love you if he knew, I just know he would. Your father and I loved each other very much, but that woman who is with him now stole him away with her empty promises of a better life," Isabella paused and then went on. "You now how I can't work because of my condition?" Anthony nodded solemnly. "Well, although your father is a loving man, he is also a greedy one. He didn't want to live with a woman who couldn't help contribute to the household monetarily," Isabella lied.
"Well, I think that is stupid. I think you are the most wonderful mommy in the world, even if you can't work," Anthony said slipping his small arms around her neck. Isabella breathed in the sweet smell of his freshly washed hair and smiled.
On the way back to their home, Isabella reflected on the fact that her life was turning out OK considering.
Although she didn't have Anthony she had his child, which was more than Danielle could claim. Although Danielle and Anthony had tried many different fertility treatments through the years, Danielle could never stay pregnant. Each one ended in miscarriage. Isabella just knew that Danielle was the one that was infertile, just as she knew that if she had been the one to marry Anthony she could have given him as many children as he wanted. It was sort of ironic in a way...just one more proof that Isabella was the one Anthony was meant to be with.

(Some of the pictures in this part don't quite fit the story. Sadly I am not very good at setting up these types of elaborate shots the way some story tellers are. I also have no way to make rain in the game and no paint program to add it in afterward. So the pictures are pretty bad in this section. Hopefully the story will make up for that.)
"I'm so glad to hear that. I hope they soon find the fiend that did that to her and bring him to justice," Anthony told Danielle on the phone.
"I'm coming home soon. Just give me a moment to change into some clean clothes."
"Yes, she delivered at 2:31 am. Both twins are as healthy as can be," Anthony said with a touch of regretful sadness. He no longer had any hope that he would see his own baby delivered.
"I promise to be extra careful. I know, it is raining cats and dogs out there tonight," Anthony said looking out the window.
"I know I could, but I really want to see you tonight."
"OK, see you soon, dear. I love you too." Anthony turned off his phone and gathered his clean clothes to change into. After he was dressed he trekked through the hospital and sloshed out to the parking garage.
Isabella gently tucked her sleeping son into bed. She smiled at how big he was getting.
She then transformed into a bat and flew to the hospital. She arrived just as Anthony's car was pulling out.
She flew behind it following through the pouring rain until he pulled into a gas station. As he was filling the car, Isabella flew to the woods across the street and formed back into herself. She watched him from afar trying to see him as someone who didn't love him would. For the first time she noticed the lines creasing his worn face. She noticed the way he was always on the move, eyes darting this way and that...looking for some unseen tormenter. Isabella gasped and tears formed in her eyes. Had she done this to him? Surely not...but some sinister voice whispered, "If not you, then who?"
"No," she whispered back to this new voice. "I couldn't have. I love him."
The tears flowed freely now and when Anthony got into the car to leave Isabella was at first too shaken to transform and when she finally did she felt that her command of the bat shape was tenuous.
She followed his car closely, her small body sodden with the unceasing rain. All at once she shuddered and lost her bat form and fell to the road almost directly in front of Anthony's car.
"What the h**l?! Anthony cursed when he saw the pale form materialize in front of his bumper. He swerved to avoid hitting it, but the road was too wet and the car ran off the road and flipped over into the woods. Isabella sat up, a scream already forming on her lips. She ran to the overturned car and tried to right it. Yet even with her strength, she was unable to move the car off of Anthony who was pinned underneath. Her eyes blurred with bloody tears and she had trouble finding him. Suddenly she stepped on something soft and yielding and she heard Anthony groan in pain underneath her. She fell down to her knees at once. Only half of his body was visible, the rest was under his car. She gently lifted his head and placed it in her lap.
Anthony groaned again and looked up at her. Slowly, comprehension dawned in his eyes. "Isabella...it was...it was...all along..." He was wracked by a fit of bloody coughing. "you"
"Shhhhhh...don't speak love," Isabella soothed. She desperately wanted to call for help, but Anthony's phone was unreachable. She was torn. She didn't want to leave him here alone either. "Can you reach your phone?" she asked.
"I...I...don't think...so. I can't feel anything...I feel...numb," Anthony gasped. He looked up at her and spoke his last, "Why?"
Isabella didn't answer at first, knowing her time was short. She oh so gently bit into his neck, not wanting to feed on him, but hoping to transfer the virus that she had to him...to transfer her immortality. After just a taste of his sweet blood, she stopped and looked at him hoping for any sign of change. It was too late though. Anthony was already dead. Her tears poured, cutting bloody tracks down her cheeks. She answered him at last, "Because I love you." She buried her head into chest and brokenly sobbed. "Because...I love...you!"
She screamed and screamed until she heard distant sirens approaching.
And then she softy put her lips to his and kissed him for the first and last time.
She took to the air.
At this point Danielle leaves our story as thoroughly as Anthony leaves it. And know that though she never got completely over Anthony's death, she lived out the rest of her days in peace...untroubled by restless spirits that walk the night. It was Isabella's final gift to Anthony.

Isabella could tell that her son was getting restless. He paced the floor and she was having trouble getting him to concentrate on his studies. "Come sit down next to me. Let's go over this paper again. Why My Life Sucks. I mean really, the subject matter doesn't really have much to do with A Tale Of Two Cities."
Anthony sneered at her. "Please mother, don't patronize me. You know full well what I wrote it for. Seriously, your head is so stuck some place not of this world that you don't see what is in front of your own face!"
"But still dear, I think this bears some discussing. You used there instead of their right here in this sentence. How many times have we talked about proper grammar. I swear you don't listen to a word I say sometimes," Isabella said shaking her head.
"Did you also read the part where I wrote about how you are stifling me! You don't even let me out of the house at all anymore. At least when I was little you took me on your nightly roaming."
"Yes, but you were well under my control then," Isabella answered. "I worry you might run off now and that I wouldn't be able to stop you."
"Oh come on! I don't stand a chance against your strength and you know it," the teenager spat.
"Anthony! I would never use my strength against you in that way! How could you even think that!" Isabella sighed and put down the paper. She stood up and walked closer to her son. He looked so much like his father did at seventeen.
The age she fell in love with him. "I could give it to you, you know," she whispered in his ear. "You too could have the power that I do." Her heart beat faster at the thought of biting his tender neck, such an intimate act. She reached out to caress his cheek.
Anthony recoiled in horror. "What are you doing?! I don't want what you have! Clearly, being a vampire has made you loose you mind!"
Isabella drew her hand back and cried, "Why do you deny me? Your father denied me, but I won't have it from you! My own child!" She reached for him again.
"Get away from me, mother! You're a wreck! Your life is a wreck, but I won't let you wreck mine anymore!"
He started for the door and turned back smiling. "You don't have it in you to stop me. I know you won't, just like you never stopped my father from leaving you either!"
Isabella crumpled to the floor sobbing. "You're all I have since your father died. Please don't leave me," she whispered.
Anthony felt pity stir in his heart, but it was not enough to stop him.
He no longer wanted the long days and sleepless nights spent with a mother that he feared was seeing him more and more as a potential lover instead of a child. He left her there on the floor, not looking back.
Isabella often spent long hours at Anthony's grave.
It was funny, but now that he was dead she spent a lot of time talking to him...telling him everything that she couldn't when he was alive. She told him all about their son.
How he was just as gorgeous and intelligent as Anthony was in life. She of course always went at night and left before the morning's first light, but not this time.
She kneeled before Anthony's headstone and sobbed, "I drove him away, love. I'm so sorry. I'm not the mother that he needed. I wish I could have been. He deserved better." She went about arranging the flowers she had brought again. She was nervous, but determined. She thought about the fact that her ashes would mingle with the dirt of Anthony's grave and smiled. She would finally be with him forever and no one would be able to take her away from him ever again. She had thought that once, so long ago, but now it was true. She faced the east.
The sun rose.
She cringed away from it as was instinctual, but she stood up...she stood her ground. It took two hours all told. Towards the end she felt as though she was burning alive and she howled her pain, but the sun finally took her all the way into its embrace.
And Isabella finally found peace.

This story was amazing! :D
I just read it from start to finish.. by the end, I felt so sorry for Isabelle... it seemed as if nothing went right for her at all. It's weird how an innocent high school crush led to so much death and despair. xP

Thanks for reading my story so in depth and making so many great comments. ( I too love vampires.)
Isabella is indeed eighteen through out the story. The reason she appears as an adult half way through is because I accidently aged her and couldn't get her back down to teen without problems.
She knows she didn't pass down anything to Anthony Jr. She is lying to him for two reasons, to keep him inside with her all the time and to pretend she is his real mother.
Yes, Isabella is attracted to Anthony Jr. at the end of the story because he is the same age as her and looks exactly like his father. Although Isabella knows that she isn't his real mother and sees him as a lover towards the end of the story, Anthony Jr. doesn't know and is decidedly freaked out by the idea.
Again, I think you knew all of that, but I really wanted to comment on your great insights.

I just read the whole story, and wow! It was great, dream_operator23! Like I said in my first comment, it's very different from any of the other stories I've read, which sets it apart. I also think the element of surprise and unpredictability in the story is fantastic; I always have a tough time thinking of surprise twists to keep readers from guessing what will happen, but you seem like a pro! I'm so glad you shared this with us, and hope you'll post more in the future. It was very creative, spooky, and thoroughly enjoyable.
P.S. I like your custom content! :)

Thank you Sim Sagas! That means a lot coming from you! You have great CC too! If you saw anything you liked and want to know where I got I should be able to help you. Even though I don't keep a list of where my CC comes from, I tend to remember where I got them. I'm glad you thought it was unpredictable. I tried!
I probably will post another one in the future. I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head. I have this whole victorian, gothic (in the traditional Wuthering Heights sense) love story in my head, but there are a few plot points that I'm not sure I can iron out to my liking. I'm still thinking about it though!
And thank you everyone else for your comments too! I didn't think anyone would be reading it this long after it was finished.

I really liked your story! You're a great storyteller, so I'll be waiting for some new stuff written by you. The victorian idea sounds really cool! You should go for that! ;)
