Well at first it looked like something to make meshes (especially with the title of this post :P) but I guess its really just going to be another pattern making tool("This plugin will allow you create patterns for use within the game.") and they haven't figured out meshes and such? Or am I missing something?

Meshes in the Sims 3 (and not from TSR either): http://www.customsims3.com/forum1/YaBB.pl?num=1244300190
Go WesHowe, Echo and Rick :D
There's a tut and some tools, get to work meshers ;) I'd expect new meshes to start showing up here by tonight, if the experience with pattern modding is any indication.
As for the TSR tool, they showed they can open a Sims 3 mesh in their tool. That's a far cry from modding the mesh and putting it back in the game. That's what the tut I linked above tells you how to do.
As for the TSR pattern modding plugin (looks like they're incorporating that as an addon to their mesh tool) we already have one here on MTS from Delphy et al. That's a solved problem ;)
Looks like what we'll wind up with is a choice of tools from different sources, which is not at all a bad thing.
