Ok I don't know if this is supposed to happen or is a bug. I created a sim and started his architectural designer career. Everything was going fine until i noticed that the sims that hire him to do renovations are constantly increasing their friend level. Within 3 days give or take a sim becomes best friend. I didn't talk with anyone of them after the renovation is done, and the sims in me list that i know because i talked with them once aren't raising in friendship. Only the ones that hire me for renovations. Is this supposed to happen? My sim isn't charismatic and i haven't bought any of those things to give them special abilities. What gives? I don't want my sims to best friend everyone he makes a renovation. Is there a way for this to stop? And is there a code to level down the sims that are already as best friends? (4 best friends in a few sim days without talking with anyone..) Please help. I'm enjoying this profession a lot.. I played as a inspector and didn't like very much.. But this one is great.. Just not the friends thing.. :!:

Yes. Doing a good job with the thing will give you a +rel boost. Combined with various other perks and you can get insta-friends out of it.

What other perks? I really don't want this.. No one in their right mind becomes best friends just because someone did a nice decor job on their house..

I have the same problem... after playing for a couple sim weeks I have at least 10 best friends all from people who hired me. I dont know how to fix it and am hoping whenever the stupid patch comes out it'll fix this.

If you enable debug, you can slide down the relationship bars between you and others. Other than that I suppose that you could do a crappy job and not get the boost. :)

Hum I see. Thanks ;)
I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to create a mod where it wouldn't give that gain. Or give a smaller gain.. Like not enough to raise it to friend but just barely.

Oh, please don't over complicate things. That would be bad...

Eh? Complicated? You've kinda just been told what the cheat is... (you can work out which of the two given cheats above is corect by looking at how many people agree/disagree with the posts) and just for even more clarification, I did a google search for you (hm, simple thing to do and yet people never do it).

Actually this is the right one.. I always have to enter it 2 times when using it because i always write it wrong the first time..
But i really would rather have a mod so the friendship gain wouldn't happen.. By the way does it happen too in the stylist profession?
