Woo, just got APB... not sure I like it yet - the PVP stuff is INTENSE and I'm not very good at it. Anyone want to team up? I play on Patriot - I have both a criminal and enforcer.

Edit: Ugh, I'm not sure I even -want- to keep playing this game. I just keep getting killed or arrested by people with way better gear than me, and there's no way to avoid PVP - even if you do unopposed missions, you still get randomly chosen to get Enforcers going after you. And then as a low-level character you may as well just stand there and let them arrest you, because they've got way better gear than you.

And the lag is INTENSE. Pretty much as soon as anyone else is on my screen or nearby me, I may as well just take my hands off the keyboard and mouse and give up. It turns into a slide show - one frame maybe every two or three seconds, if that. If I'm driving at the time, I'm pretty much completely out of control. If I'm on foot, I'm usually arrested before I even know it.

At one point I was just trying to buy some new pants and got arrested as part of a random Enforcers-are-after-you thing - without even realizing it. It was so laggy, all I got was the "you got arrested!" screen all the sudden. And even buying clothes is pretty pointless, when it takes about 30 seconds to load each item, and everyone in the Social District looks like a dude in a tee shirt and green ball cap anyway.

Don't waste your money.

Yeah, it's been getting some pretty poor critical responses too.

Not that I can play it anyway, no Australian servers and given the nature of the game the lag would make it even more unplayable for us antipodeans. And it hasn't been released over here either as a result. :P

I was actually intrigued in this game for a long time--I mean, a modern setting MMO, god alive, why are there so few of those available?--but the sheer buggyness of it currently and the fact that I more and more hate MMOs in general has kept me away, far away.

Assuming it doesn't die, though, it'll only get better in terms of reliability and performance.
