Hi!, I just recently installed AM, I allways play in Sunset Valley and of course an option appeared to place the new buildings, the fire department etc. The problem is that these new buildings aren't working, they are allways empty including the laundry, I change the lot tipe to community and select the right label for all of them but it didn't work.
I started a new game again in Sunset Valley and the buildings where right there where I had place them before but pointing to the wrong direction!!!
So I just want a new clean copy of Sunset, maybe the buildings will be automaticaly placed in the right places and functional???
I need help please...
I also have WA and HELS.

If the buildings are functional but facing the wrong way, try going to Edit Town mode, and copying them to the bin, then delete them and replace them, then you can rotate them however you want. (I THINK that Lots can't be rotated after the initial placement... I can't remember, I play Twinbrook so all the buildings were already there)

It's not working, the buildings are not functional, why every change I made in the city becomes permanent for futute new games??? I just want it to be like restored to the way it comes or something.

With Ambitions installed, some of (not all) the new lot types will be auto-placed for you when you start a new game... mostly badly, as you said... they need rotating.
You can just bulldoze those lots if you want, using the new Edit World tool... that will allow you to completely remove them. And if you want to replace them somewhere else or facing differently, they're all already in the bin.
Or instead of replacing them from the bin, you can make new Ambitions lots of your own if you zone them properly. I've seen a couple up here for download, if you don't like building.

as Srikandi said, the game will randomly place them in lots that are big enough when you start a new game. Its likely that the lots it chose were the only ones it could actually use. (The Fire Station for instance is huge) which is probably why you put them there in the first place?

Actually the default lots are all 20x30, but the game plops them on larger lots in Sunset Valley and Riverview.
What I do is bulldoze the lots the game drops, and then rezone those spots back to residential.
I created new lots for the ambitions lots in edit world mode, by placing new lots on the map where there were no existing lots. I then rezone the new lots I placed for the type of lot I want there, and plop building I want into the space.
I have a 10x15 consignment shop (much smaller than default size) and a 20x15 laundrymat placed this way, and they work fine. My custom salon/tattoo parlor and fire station both work placed on 20x30 lots. So they don't need to be in the spaces the game drops them in at all.
(My custom lots are available here at MTS, if you are interested)

I think I will try with your custom lots, I just don't like Twinbrook and I really want those buildings in Sunset Valley. Thanks.
