I'm wanting to record the music as my band learns the different songs. (After the band has learned all the instruments, of course) I would like to drop the MP3 files into Custom music. I like the Sim learned and played music in Sims 3, and this is for my own use. My interest is in music created by the Sim; not the music that is provided by game while building a house, etc.

Any suggestions as to best program for a non-techie player to use? I dislike WinAmp (way too tech for me and totally non-intuitive) and am doubtful about Windows Media Player.

Apologies if this question in wrong place.

Use Audacity and set it record from the correct source, it will record anything heard in-game.

Audacity is your best bet, don't be tempted by the wide array of free mp3 screen recorders out there. They will often be either nagware ( constantly pestering you to download their other garbage or install some internet toolbar ) or even worse some kind of virus!
