Oh how I missed milkshape....
I'm currently having major issues exporting meshes, whenever I export this mesh it gets those shadows in places because of the normals going all bitchy on me. Im doing exactly what I have been all morning. This, I know from a previous question, is a random un-avoidable occurance etc etc etc. but not only does this mesh develop dark shadows no matter what I do, when importing previous versions ( I save in stages. to avioid shadows...:( ) they're all coming in with shadows they did not have. Ive tested the mesh ingame and its got no shadows. None of the files had shadows before as I checked them to stop crap like this from happening. Milkshapes just adding this crap to my beautiful mesh I've been at for hours.

Have I done something wrong or is milkshape trying to make me cry? or is this one of those random techno farts that will be solved by turning it on and off agian?

thanks in advance. x

Most barbaric way to do this is to select the vertices that go wonky (in this case, the feet and boots, just to be safe) and at the top go to vertex > unweld.

Next is to fix the normals. One thing some people dont realize is that when you unweld verts like that, you can use the "face" setting on the selector tool to select faces then normalize just those faces.

That SHOULD fix your problem, but it will slightly increase your vertex count (not face/poly-count) which only becomes a problem for larger projects.

Thank you so much! I'll give it a stab. :D
