Is there any rules to building balconies in Apartment Life? For example, how many balconies can one apartment have? Do balconies need to be a certain distance from parallel apartments? The reason I ask is because I have created an apartment complex (which I worked very hard on), however, I can place objects like chairs on some balconies and others not. However, the Sims can enter the balcony but when I want to place something on it, it is off limits. Why is this?

[...] The reason I ask is because I have created an apartment complex (which I worked very hard on), however, I can place objects like chairs on some balconies and others not. However, the Sims can enter the balcony but when I want to place something on it, it is off limits. Why is this?If any area is off-limits while you are playing occupied apartment buildings, then you know that the area has been designated as a communal area. In the case of balconies, it's probably because of the wall, fence or gate that you are using.

Have you read through this article? It tries to explain the various problems that you can have when building apartments.

There's also a sticky thread where you can post this kind of problem and people will try to find a solution. Here's the link:

It can really help if you can post pictures of the problem areas.

For example, how many balconies can one apartment have? Do balconies need to be a certain distance from parallel apartments? No, there is no limit to the number of balconies that one apartment can have. No, balconies do not need to be a certain distance from parallel apartments.
