I like oblivion, It's a very good game, but its SO overrated. In my honest opinion, games like Assassins Creed and Metroid Prime are A LOT better, but that's my opinion....

It's a 2006 game.
On the bright side, it's not broken junk like Fallout: New Vegas. But what could we expect from Obsidian, with their buggy and crashy history, who has no argument or guilt with releasing unfinished work so that new customers can function as the beta testers, who eats sht and backtracks on their apologies by blaming Windows and even the hand that feeds them, who claim they are working hard to patch their game but continue to capitalize on their cut of profits from lousy 2 hour dlc that belongs in the garbage.

just remember, I aint knocking Oblivion, In fact I adore the game. Its just that If I had to pick between Oblivion and Assassin's Creed. I would pick the latter.
Also, I understand the graphics are lacking in Oblivion but that SHOULD be rectified with Skyrim.

Fallout New Vegas is a masterpiece. It crashed once or twice since December, when I bought it, so why in God's name is it broken junk?

F:NV's stability is marginally worse than FO3, I'd say. I've owned both for several months now. Which is not to say NV isn't worth buying, it's just less stable. I'd say they're both more stable than Oblivion, but I also have more than a hundred mods operating in Oblivion simultaneously.

The game's also from 2006, so naturally, it's not going to be graphically competitive.

And also another thing I dont really adore about Oblivion is the horses. I hope that in Skyrim, the horses are like Red Dead Redemption's. RDR's horses are undobubtly the best that I've seen the animals portrayed in a video game.

You can't really compare Oblivion to Assassin's Creed and the like since they're not in the same genre. I will say though, that compared to other RPGs, Oblivion is most definitely near the bottom for me. I had to mod the hell out of it to make it remotely playable (to me) and even then I only spent about 15 hours with it before it bored me to death. In my opinion, Morrowind was far superior than it's predecessor in many ways. I would recommend giving it a try if older graphics don't bother you too much. I haven't been following the news much on Skyrim, but it will be interesting to see whether they've improved things.
Also, a question for those of you who've played NV: If FO3 didn't thrill me, is it worth checking out NV?

well I know some similarities
Both are open-world
Both are medival based
And AC2 had some sort of RPG elements in (buying items, more charachters)

I only "discovered" Oblivion quite of late, 2009 maybe, and since then itīs one of the "must be installed" games I have in my computer. Surely, it shows its age today but that was never a problem for me, I still play stuff from the 1990īs from time to time... :) There are literally thousands of mods out there, varying from bug fixes, improved gameplay, new items, the list go on... I really recommend The Elder Scrolls Nexus (http://www.tesnexus.com/) site for those who happen to not know it... :lovestruc
