So, I decided to pull the medieval out of hiding and start playing it. I decided to start a new kingdom since I did a lot of cheating on my old kingdom(placed every building lol).

It keeps crashing to the desktop and I have these weird graphical problems. I updated my video drivers but it's still occuring.

I know you had to do something special to enable cheating(it seems like...its been a bit since I played last). I'd like to undo that, since that is probably the problem(i just had to fix my sims 3 game this week because of bad cc).

Anyway, if anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated. A mod can feel free to move this thread wherever it needs to go, but I figured the medieval thread would be my best bet, lol.

Anyway, I'll be googling and trying to fix it. If I manage to fix it, I'll post my fix. :)

What do you mean by "weird graphical problems"? Is your GPU artifacting? Do you have a screenshot?

I wouldnt think that the graphics card broke, since I also play alot of WoW. LOL. When I googled GPU artifacting, some of the images looked similar so hopefully you've set me on a path to fixing it! :)

Edit, and yes, I am on 7.

If the images look familiar, then your GPU might be 'artifacting' because of a number of reasons, not necessarily because it's 'defective.' Often it's caused by overheating. What's your GPU? Does the manufacturer provide some fan control program?

I'm only running about 50c right now, so I'm pretty sure it's not over heating. I'm going to try a clean reinstall to see if that helps.

Is that normally or while you are running the game? What program are you using to gauge the GPU temperature (you still haven't mentioned your GPU manufacturer/model)? If it's not overheating than maybe the card is defective. Can you alt-tab out when this happens?

I use HWMonitor to check my temps. After a long WoW session(a raid or something) my temps can get up to about 70c and if they start to climb higher I hook up a usb fan. I already uninstalled Medieval, but I've been downloading Sims 3 cc to compensate lol.
I thought the card (Intel Mobile crap) may be defective as well, but I don't have any issues in any other games. I play WoW, Sims 3, Medieval, old Maxis games(safari, etc), Maplestory, and trials of other random games(can you tell I Have too much free time).

As much as I love my Medieval, I may just stick with Sims 3 for now(since I'll be getting Pets pretty quick I probably won't have time for Medieval anyway lol).

Anyway, thanks for the help. If I ever reinstall I'll see if that helps.
