I just finished the tedious process of dividing up my CC and fishing out the bad ones (took forever.) and then I finally got my game to run fine. It was all working fine. I quit sims after playing for a while, then started it back up again and suddenly i get a message saying "sims 2 has quit unexpectedly" before the game has even opened!i dragged out my downloads, to see if it was a CC problem...and it wasnt. the game still crashed even without CC.
someone please HELP! i need this fixed a.s.a.p. I'm on a 2010 macbook pro.

Please tell us more about your Macbook Pro. Some seem to be strong enough to play the game and some don't. Specifically, do you have one of the Intel graphics chips? Those are not strong enough to run the game.
Here's more information on this issue:

Be sure to read the part about how you may be damaging your computer every time that you play.

Well here's something about my mac:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro6,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s
Boot ROM Version: MBP61.0057.B0C
i have been playing sims on this computer all the time for a year now, it has been running great. Then this came out of nowhere, and i really need to get back on, as i am a filmer. What else do you specifically need to know?

And i read that. Nothing seems to be blurry, though things do go wrong from time to time, however im pretty sure its from CC.

What is your graphics processor?
It's really easy to determine whether the problem is in your CC. Backup your save game and remove your Downloads and SavedSims folder. Does the problem still occur? If so, then it's not CC (unless you've installed a bunch of CC in your game installation folders). If not, then it's in your CC and you can follow the Game_Help:Game_Problem FAQ to find the problem CC.

I'm sorry. I don't know enough about MACs to tell you how to find that information. Perhaps someone else will be able to help.

To identify your graphics processor:
top menu > apple menu > About This Mac
click the "More Info..." button to launch the system profiler
Under "Hardware Menu" you should see an item for Graphics/Displays in the left-hand pane. Select that and copy-paste the results from the right pane here.
Now, you can also work through the Game Problem FAQ to see if deleting your cache files or generating new user files might solve the failure to launch, but I'm a little concerned because I believe Apple switched to an integrated graphics chip for the Macbook Pro with the Intel Core i5 processor. Sims 2 and 3 are really hard on integrated graphics. Playing the game on an underpowered chip can damage your laptop and shorten its life.

I've had this problem with my Mac before. This could be one of two things (that I know of):
Did you remove your Accessories.cache and Groups.cache from your downloads folder?
OR
You may have too many downloads. I believe the game allows up to 10,000? It used to be only 2,000 (I think). You can up this level if necessary. :)
