View Full Version : Sims2 Cheat quest: Rotating objects beyond 45 degrees...

I'm trying to create a really nice new CAS, but I don't like the mirror and want to do some new stuff. I already know how to get rid of the current mirror, and I managed to do so successfully. However, I want to add a new mirror, and the angle just DOESN'T work. Not with 90 degree angles OR 45 degree angles. So I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can get angle rotation more acute than 45 degrees. I don't need full 360, but the greater the better.
I think I once managed to do something like 5 degrees before... but that would have been years ago, and I forgot to write it down... so if there's anyone that knows or anyone that is a really good snoop/modder that can discover or create something for me, I would be HIGHLY appreciative :D
ps. I've already put about 2 hours into searching... so I'm starting to get a little desperate 0_0
Thanks guys :D

By design, the game really only has 45 and 90 degree increments for the rotation of objects. You might see if the mirror you want to use can fit into one of SilentLucidity's angled OMSPs (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=317716). If you have never used a OMSP before, it is simply a dummy object that has a slot/surface you can place another object into (think of it as a special type of table). The angled OMSPs can be placed within one another so the effects of their rotations can be cumulative. The set provides a wider array of angles, but combining them should allow even greater angling. Once you are happy with them, use the invisible recolor to hide the OMSPs.

Thanks for the info, but not quite what I'm looking for. I do thank you though.

Been a long time but i thought you could rotate any angle with the ''moveobjects '' and ''snaptogrid'' on/off

maybesomethingdunno gave you a very good answer. I understand that it wasn't the answer that you wanted, but at least it's a correct answer.
You could always edit things in SimPE and fix the quaterions yourself:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quaternion
However, I would think that an OMSP would be your best bet. This one adds several new angles (15 and 30 degrees) on the horizontal plane:

Now THIS is what I needed!!! Thank you. Just a simple, easy to understand OMSP :D The other ones seemed to only rotate on the vertical plain... from what I could see 0_0 nothing looked quite right. That bottom link was PERFECT, Mootilda. Thank you!!
:edit: However, now I'm going to have to get AL. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it 150%! I just don't have any EPs beyond those from Double Deluxe. I plan to get some more in time though. So thank you very much! And I'm sure this will be useful to many others who HAVEN'T found these yet :3
