Hi guys. :)

I was wondering if someone could help me with a roof. It's the first time I have created something that I would like to upload, but I am nervous because no matter what shape of roof I try, it still looks awkward, making the house look even more awkward. I used a floorplan for the house, but because of the stairs, I had to modify it a little and it ended up with an extra room. But now, its time to add the roof and I am too scared to work with the boolprops. (I have only used them for the basics in game).

It's not much yet though, but, as I mentioned earlier, can anyone help me with ideas or guides as to how to put a roof on this house? (I have read the tutorials, and nothing works there either).

I appreciate any help.
Cheers

First, boolProp constrainfloorelevation isnt too scary at all, I use it constantly when building, just save what you have done first and either package the load or put it in the lot bin so if yoou do, do a major stuff up you get to go back to what you had on a fresh lot. Second, why do you need the cheat to put the roof on? This house looks like its in the modern style, so I would be tempted to say try a flat roof, to make it interesting use half walls and dummy levels so its got different sizes, heres a tutorial for making those http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=251896. You dont need to do the last step on there if you want a flat roof.

Where you have columns at the back I would be tempted to make an awning. A balcony would prob look quite good at the front, and if you took the area sticking out at the front down to 3 squares you could pop that roof on that is the first choice in the roofing tool.rest being made flat.

Just a couple of suggestions, Hope its all understandable, makes it hard to write down without images to show!

Thank you. I love the idea of balconies and will take a look at the tutorial as well when I looked at the way the original roof was made, I thought using the boolprops might be the only way, but I have a few new ideas to work with now. The house is modern, yes, but this is all still new to me as well. :) i even added the post to the wrong section. ( blush).

I will work with the roof and post an update so you can take another look.

Once again, thanks. I really appreciate it.
