View Full Version : Sims 3 will not load at all, and launcher will not install Sims3Pack

I just got this computer and installed Sims 3 + all expansion packs (no Stuff Packs). I did uninstalled them from my previous computer. It's patched up to version 10.0.96.015017. When I try to install Sims3Pack files that are NOT from the store, the load bar gets stuck at 0%. Same thing when I try to load the game - I get the whole animation and then nothing, not even the music. Except the Base Game and the World Adventures they are all digital copies. I uninstalled Origin and reinstalled it a couple of times and still nothing. I tried searching the FAQ and the rest of the forum and have not found another answer.

Base game is version 1.31, then? How did you patch, via Launcher or...?
The graphics drivers is very old - update with http://www.geforce.com/Drivers/Results/41694
Where is the game installed to? C:/ drive? That is running out of room.

If not Store Sims3Packs, where are they downloaded from? Are they Exchange content, or TSRW Sims3Packs?

And what do you mean by - "load the game ... then nothing" - it froze or crash? Any error message? So it became unresponsive and you have to Ctrl+Alt+Del from TaskManager?
Have you read and tried the suggestions in Game_Help:TS3_Load_Issues?

My game has actually been working great until today when I updated my sims 3 version to 10.0.96.015017 now the game is crashing after load and will not allow startup or loading files through launcher. This is the first thread I've found. Think there is a huge glitch in this update.

I, too, am having this problem. Game worked perfectly fine until I updated to 10.0.96.015017 and now neither the game loads nor can I install/uninstall custom content. Launcher works fine, but as soon as I click "play" the game opens, the loading bar appears, the music starts, skips, stops and then a window pops up saying the Sims 3 has stopped working.

Additionally, this is the only thread, other than the one I posted on the forums, detailing this issue. When did this patch get released? I decided tonight to start playing again since a few months ago and I guess that's not happening.

If you guys need help, please create your own thread, especially if after reading through the Load Issues FAQ and working through the Crashing Checklist FAQ, the issue is still not resolved. Please include all the information asked for in the crashing article when you post.
