Simport help!

I have the following problem:

For some reason my simport says I have a friend's sim coming to town but he's a no show. I quit the game in frustration and it says cancel and I click yes in the hopes that will cancel it out. As soon as I fire up the game again, everything seems normal until I accept a request from a friend to host a sim...

I assumed that by uninstalling the game and installing it again, that would work but it didn't. Then i proceeded to delete every other game I had, including all sims that I previously used since the EP came out. Again it failed.

I finally decided to clear my cashes to make sure that that wasn't the problem but alas, simport is not working for me and it is driving me crazy because I actually like that feature.

If anyone has a solution please share because I am at the end of my rope here.

Showtime needs a major update...I had the same problem to. I uninstalled the game and installed it again to still didn't work. the only way I got the game to work was deleting my current town I was in and starting a new one.

Are you using any mods? I've found that the only time I can get simport to work successfully is in a vanilla game. I was trying to narrow it down to which mod or mods is causing the issue, but have not managed to have the patience to since it takes so darned long for simport (you have to play about a sim day to wait for the concert to start).

So I've not conclusively managed to prove that yes, it is a mod problem, but for me the only times it's worked have been without mods.

I'm gonna try and fire up the game without any custum content. Maybe that will help until EA fixes whatever it is. Obviously it's a problem on their part seeing as so many people have issues with it.

So nothing was working and I for some reason decided to install all my CC again ... and boom goes the dynamite, like magic, it worked.

Well, older versions of [Overwatch] conflicted with simporting. It is possible that certain sections in that mod still do.

The current version [StoryProgression] doesn't like simports (keeps trying to delete the imported sims for being illegal immigrants).

[ErrorTrap] has been reported to cause problems, though that one is unsubstantiated as yet.

I have the latest versions of your mods, Twallan. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly which mod is causing the problem or even if the mods are the cause. That's interesting about Story progression though, since the symptoms I always get is that visiting simport sims just don't arrive. So the concert never happens, although if I check my 'wall' it says that there was a fabulous concert in my world! :lol: Trouble is I never get to see them!

Yes, another user reported the exact same symptoms. I suspect it is [StoryProgression] to blame. :)

uhm i know this is an old tread but...are the nraas mods still causing theese problems with simport?

i have master controller, storry pro..and overwatch atm in my game. but when i host a sim the sim never appears to the show...(the sign on the map is there and all...and i go there too but nothing happens- and even after 3more sim weeks its all still the same) and when i send my own sim... the sim is gone a while..comes back and nothing has changed..sooo other then the nraas mods i oly use book of talent . should i play without those mods to get the simport to work?
