I see this Sims 2 forum is much more active than the BBS. I'm wondering how many users here still play TS2 and choose it over TS3. I'm possibly looking to buy TS2 and all of its expansions so tell me why you choose TS2 over TS3 or vise-versa.
Thanks!

I am probably one of the rare ones on this forum that play both.
I started out with Sims 2, and when I bought this computer the integrated chip was giving me major graphic issues with Sims 2. I went on a suggestion and got Sims 3 to see if I could play it, and my computer could handle Sims 3 on low settings.
I recently had an actual graphics card installed and now can play Sims 2 again. Sims 3 is still installed on my computer and I'll probably play it again, but right now I'm on a Sims 2 kick because I missed it so much when I couldn't play.
From what I've seen, a lot of people in the Sims 2 part of the forum don't like the way the Sims 3 Sims look, and I have to say it took me awhile to get used to it.
They also don't like the idea of Story Progression. I used Twallan's Story Progression mod and was able to configure it to the way I wanted it, but it still frustrated me at times.

I'm another with both Sims 2 and Sims 3 installed, but I play Sims 2 a lot more. Sims 3 is one of the things I play when I feel bored of Sims 2. Like most people the look of the Sims and how you lose things by switching households are two of the reasons. Unlike a lot my main reason is the camera, and how it jerks around. I can't follow sims as they move around town without feeling sick. If I shift away from the house and back everything looks invisible, then grey for some seconds. That annoys me quite a bit. Turning everything from high to medium helped a little. If I didn't have Ambitions and Generations I probably wouldn't play it at all. It's hard to put a finger on it, but I just don't care much about Sims 3 sims. They seem kind of soulless and I don't really care that much what happens to them. I had to reinstall once and loosing those sims didn't bother me at all. With my Sims 2 legacy I've done a full rebuild, make a regular backup and losing that would be upsetting. The longest family on Sims 3 lasted three generations and I would not be going to a lot of bother to keep them.

Is it? I wouldn't know, I've only just started posting here. It didn't sound like a debate.

I am going to ask the "Judge In Court " to try to end this Sims case if he or she can.
In the case of ModTheSims VS The Sims 2 & 3, I find the defendant guilty of public lewdness, vandalism, and fraud. I'm sentencing the defendant to 2 minutes in time-out while he/she thinks about all the trouble I went through to type this. *Slams wooden mallet* Case closed.

Every time there is a TS2 vs TS3 thread, it just seems like a bunch of posts going,
"Blah blah I hate pudding faces. Blah blah rabbitholes."
