So I'm having problems with Custom Content showing up in my game. I have tons of downloads in my downloads folder. Custom families/houses I've downloaded aren't showing up. How can I fix this? CAS items, Buy and Build all work.

Don't download lots with families in them - that's a surefire way to corrupt your neighbourhoods.
As for normal, uninhabited lots; if you've put them in the Downloads folder, you're doing it wrong. :) How exactly are you installing them? And where are you looking for them in-game?

Well where should I put them? What if I want custom lots/with families? Looking for them with the regular lots.

You should install them by double-clicking the sims2pack, which will open either the Sims 2 Bodyshop Installer (ignore the name, it's for lots) or the Sims2pack Clean Installer. Game Help:Downloading for Fracking Geniuses

If you want lots with families in them, download the lot, and download the families as individual sims which show up in your simbin. Then create the family using the downloaded sims in CAS, and move it into the lot; and, if you like, delete the sims in the simbin to keep things tidy.

Well where should I put them?

Putting a downloaded lot file in Downloads doesn't work. The game installs lots using an installer such as the default installer or the Sims2Pack Clean Installer, available here: http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/

What if I want custom lots/with families?

You can want them all you want, and you can even download and use them all you want, but you corrupt whatever neighborhoods you use them in by doing so. Your choice.

I will try it. Thank you to both of you. :)

Where do I download it to though? Using Sims2Pack Clean Installer.

I don't understand your question, but either of the links we gave you offer very detailed directions that will do a lot better explaining downloading and installing than I could. ;)

I got it now. I was supposed to put them in the teleport folder. :)

No, the installation process uses the Teleport folder, but you don't put the files there manually.

Unzip the downloaded lot file on your desktop, then use either the game's default installer or the Clean Installer to install the lot. When you load the game, the lot will be in the lot catalog with nothing more for you to do than place it in a neighborhood when you're ready to use it.

The zip file can be either tossed, or better, kept as a backup.

Is your lot a .package or a .Sims2Pack file? Most lots are shipped as Sims2Pack files, but the game cannot use the files in that state. They need to be properly installed using either the BodyShop Installer or the Clean Installer. Both of these programs will separate the Sims2Pack file into its component pieces, then move each piece to the appropriate location in your save game. After installation, the game itself will do further processing on these files and move them again.

If you are using the Clean Installer to install lots, do not change the default location.
