Making Additional Sims in Saved Game

Hello all! I'm new to playing The Sims3 after many years of playing Sims 2. I'm wondering how - if it's possible - do I make new sims in my saved game/town. I want to make a boyfriend for my girl sim, but don't know how to go about it - not like in Sims 2: just go to neighborhood view, then to CAS and make new sim , done. Really confused, please help. :help:

However, to avoid all that hassle and place it directly into your household, go get the Twallan's Master Controller and Debug Enabler. There's an option to "Create Sim" on the latter. Use it on your lot, and it will spawn a sim instantly on your lot, placing it under the command of your household. After that, you edit it in the "Edit with CAS" option in MasterController.

Besides, you can increase the slider range in the Master Controller settings.

You can do it fairly easily without a mod too. Make the boyfriend sim in CAS as normal, on his own. He will go into sim bin. Select him and use game's own options in Edit Town to place him in the girl's house.

That was part of the problem, OP couldn't find out howto enter CAS (i think) and i just replied with the link to MC since asked for it.
This is how you enter CAS in Sims 3 playing a town:
Menu/Edit Town, there you will find the CAS button and then do like Inge said.

Go to "Edit Town" and then to "Create a Sim" in that square by the family bin. Create your sim and then move him into the town by either moving the boyfriend into a house that already has a family or buying him a new house he can afford. If you want to change active households there is a symbol to your left on the bottom under "Edit Town" that lets you change the active household. Just be sure to turn off story progression under "options" so the progression doesn't mess with your other families while playing another house. Good luck!!
