There are plenty of mods on the web that remove stings from the game, but I have yet to see one that adds MORE of them.

Personally, I rather enjoy hearing audio cues in my game, so I was delighted to find some unused and underused stings to polish up while digging around the game files.

What Is This Mod?
This is a scripting mod that enables some previously-unused stings for specific situations in-game, as well as fixing some tangentially sting-related annoyances.

The stings, as well as the situations in which they will play, are listed below. Certain stings can be disabled through tuning; see below for more info.


In order to allow the new game sting to play without interruption, this mod also disables the incredibly annoying Social Group notification if University Life is installed, and delays spawning of the Weather Stone until 10:00 AM (or until either the game is saved and reloaded or Edit Town is entered and exited) if both Supernatural and Seasons are installed.



Edit Town Music
One thing that has bugged me for years is that Map View music added by expansions packs does not play in Edit Town mode. With the optional "EditTownMusicAdditions" file, that music can be added back into Edit Town, so you can modify your worlds the way they were meant to be modified! The package files are grouped by expansion pack, so you can easily remove them if you dislike the music from a particular expansion or don't have that expansion installed. See the Readme inside the download for more info. Note that you do NOT need the base mod installed to use these optional add-ons.

Tuning
The new game sting, residential lot purchase stings, and moving sting can be toggled separately by modifying the "Gamefreak130.StingTweaks" XML resource using S3PE or a similar package editing program.



Compatibility and Uninstallation
Built, tested, and (mostly) working on game version 1.69. It should work on earlier versions, but it has not been tested; do so at your own risk.

The base mod does not require any expansion packs to run, but the Edit Town music packages should only be run with their associated expansion packs installed.

The Edit Town music packages override the "music_mode_edit_town" AUDT resources (0xC0BE10D459F226EE) and will conflict with any mod that does the same. The base mod overrides the following AUDT resources:

sting_vacationhome_egypt (0x667C3F808B386567)
sting_vacationhome_france (0x1B486C6B7FA880BB)

Uninstallation should not create a huge problem -- simply remove the mod from the packages folder. However, to avoid potential game problems, it is good practice to ensure that, if applicable, the Weather Stone has spawned in all new games before removal. After removal or update of the mod, it is recommended that you delete the "ScriptCache.package" file from your Userdata folder.
