I tried listening to Justin Beiber on Youtube just now because I'd never heard his music and I can't say that I enjoyed it. I can't even say that I made it through the entire song. And he looks like he's 10, so I really don't find him attractive either.

I do like some Lady Gaga, though, which I blame on living in a college dorm. Too much exposure to dance music, and you start to *shudder* like some of it. :P

I'm just glad that my next door neighbor's love of Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers isn't rubbing off on me.

Nothing really wrong with Justin Bieber. He sings like a girl, he still looks like a little kid, though he's 15 or 16 or whatever. That's just life. Whatever, at least he's not Kesha. as far as I know, he doesn't use Autotune. He can actually sing. So he sounds like a girl. Someday he won't.

Someone must think he's good, otherwise he wouldn't have been signed to a record label. I don't really like his music myself - too (ugh) preppy and perfect and pop-ish, but it's your opinion and you're entitled to it, right?

Honestly, I'm sick of this whole attitude towards music where it seems like other people have to approve what you like in order for your liking it to be valid.

I was such an indie hipster in high school, then I graduated and stopped pretending I didn't like popular music. Sometimes it's popular for a reason.
I think it's incredibly stupid to hate. . . well, generally to hate a celebrity at all, but especially one who's talented just because they have obnoxious super-fans :P

I'm a bit past the screaming teenage fan years, but in the early 90's I was a HUGE fan of Color Me Badd. Oh, and New Kids on the Block. I had the dolls, stage, all the cassettes, bedspread, curtains, t-shirts, etc..... Now you tell me who has a right to be ashamed... Ha! :p

Sounds like my introduction to Britney Spears. I was working at Service Merchandise in the electronics department and Hit Me Baby One More Time had just been released. So that video and Eve 6's "Heart In A Blender" had both just been released and both were on the DVD the store used to demonstrate the big screen TV's. This along with some promotional Barbie music video and a bunch of other ad type stuff. So it never occurred to be that either Britney or Eve 6 were on there because they were you know famous or anything. I assumed they were just the children of store employees who'd done those videos for the demo DVD as a corporate joke.

Was several weeks before I found an AOL chat room devoted to Britney and clued in she was for real. With Eve 6, I think I managed to get into 1999 before actually hearing them on the radio and discovering they were a real thing as well. Such happy memories.

I don't even like him and I agree (well idk about the talent cuz I don't listen but Ill give you the benefit of the doubt) some people enjoy his music. that is all that matters.
you have no idea how much I feel on this subject. I can't stand it when people hate celebrities (sometimes I ignore it but sometimes grr I will stand on my soapbox and give you a stern talking to, that probly mostly happens when its someone I admire though. I mean geez I'm not hating on your people so don't hate on mine). they didn't do anything to you. you're allowed to have an opinion but don't bash them for stupid reasons.
and I am especially disgusted at how people rag on my artists saying "it's not music". I wouldn't even say that about rap and my personal motto is in general rap is crap but am I sitting here saying its not music.

there's a certain insult about Justin Bieber that gets on my nerves. when they say "he looks like he's 12. has he hit puberty yet?" it's one thing to state that he looks younger which we can't escape the truth there I guess but when they say it like it's a bad thing that pisses me off. it's wrong. it's like making fun of a physically disabled person.

I actually have no problem with KeSha but she needs to take a bath (half kidding) as Kingsley on youtube says and her music doesn't really make any sense. I told my friend that's why I didn't like her music (I do love Your Love is My Drug though) and she's like songs don't always have to make sense.
I know dat but it's too messy to appeal to me. I can't really say I hate her songs though. I just don't care to listen to them. the only song that gets on my nerves is Tik Tok.
