Can't Build Apartments

I've been building a apartment building for my custom neighborhood. I finally finished it, and then used the cheat 'ChangeLotZoning Apartmentbase True', saved, and then went to the main neighborhood view. The symbol for Apartments wasn't above the building! Its getting really annoying! Whats wrong?

You need to start it as a residential lot, then switch it to community, then to apartmentbase. If you hadn't start it out as residential, then no matter what you do, it won't work correctly.

Maybe that's your problem.

Actually you don't have to change it to community, it's just from "residential" to "apartmentbase" (in my experience).

And yes, as Babahara says, just omit the "true" bit.

So, it's "changelotzoning apartmentbase". When you go back to neighbourhood view it will probably still show the residential mailbox, but the apartments will now be showing as rentable and when you go back into the lot (or put a sim in an apartment there) the apartment mailbox will now be showing.

Okay, I've tried all that, even built a brand new building, and somethings up.

It says that its a apartment, with four rooms for rent, but when I move in a Sim, its instantly in the buy mode, and the live mod is blacked out, you know like when you can't use it. This is VERY frustrating, and I even stayed up all night trying to get this to work, ending up only making my self sick. :faceslap:

Did you delete the EAxis mailbox or trash can? These are required for proper loading of a lot.
Do you have any cc -- especially any custom mailboxes? Remove all cc and try again.

If none of these work, you will need to take the issue to Game Help.

I had a similar problem to you once refox. If it is a case of having accidentally removed the mailbox or trashcan, as mangaroo mentions, then you can get a downloadable apartment mailbox from this site - http://daydream.etowns.net/

The reason why I had the same problem as you is I needed to put the correct mailbox in. For some unbeknownst reason Maxi's didn't include a buyable apartment mailbox in the collections. Doh!

Just make sure you read the instructions given on the site when downloading.

I didn't think of deleting the trash can and mail box! And no, I don't have any thing that messes with the trash can or mail box. I guess I'll try that out. Um, if this continues to be a problem, how would this be moved?

EDIT: Fixed it! Thank you SO much jodemilo for giving me the link to that mail box! I now have little pixel people running about in a apartment.
