I've been felled by the flu and my Late Night EP still sits on my desk waiting for me, but my wonderful hubby picked me up the X-box version that I can play in bed. I have to say, I'm having a blast with it. It really is pretty much the same game this time, complete with almost all the bells and whistles. I don't think I would have the patience to build a house or decorate a mansion but the control system is pretty decent and I'm doing OK without a mouse.

Anyone else playing a console version? What do you think?

Weather would be nice but probably lag the PC game.

The Wii version has weather? Maybe I should get that version then. I was thinking about it but wasn't sure how much I'd play it, as I don't really play the Sims 2 console games that much.

I was thinking about getting the Wii version, but to me, the trailers and all make it look like the town is like a whole new beach environment thing instead of like the suburban Sunset Valley you get in the PS3 and XBox versions. I don't know how I feel about that...

Playing the x-box version made me go out and buy the PC game, I found it very annoying with a controller, couldnt find a birds eye view option and the zoom in is AWFUL, cant get close to my sims at all :/
PC version much better.

Ive been playing it all afternoon on Wii, i started with a single guy, he just got a bonus athis job and has a love interest named Stephanie (who wont go steady because of her flip-flopper trait). i was LOVING this game until i heard you can only play for 50 days and then you have to start a new family. is this true?? How are you supposed to accomplish anything in such a short time??

I have the PS3 version and enjoyed it for a while but found that there isn't really much to do except the basics. I was also VERY disappointed when I realised that you can only play one family per save (no switching to your neighbours house) Also, there is only a two houses you can afford at the start which is frustrating. I ended up buying Late Night and now disappear to my computer room at any given moment :)

I got the flu and played sims 3 on my laptop since 11AM this morning to now. It passes the time but for the love of god dont rest it on your 'pelvis' if your male. I've done it for 6 Hours straight. Not only has it made me feel worse, im pretty sure if it heats over a certain temperature it nukes your little guys. /crude.

Sims 3 on my iPod... YAWN. It's like sims 1.... but terrible... x600...

That's the first I've heard of that. I can't speak for the Wii, but I'm on week 10 in the X-box, which is obviously more than 50 days. It's also possible to turn aging and story progression off, so I don't see how they would limit it.

I think you're pretty safe there. :)

well when i started it it said "you have 50 days to accumulate as many lifetime happiness points as possible" or something, and in the LTH panel there is a timer counting down the days, but didnt know if it ends then or not... somebody on some other forum said it did, but i dont know if that was facts or an educated guess. it would be really dumb to end the family after such a short time though

Are the controls on the Wii better than they were with Sims Castaway? That was painful and you could only have one save game at a time :-(

Did it once.... never again!

I find the camera and cursor controls a bit annoying, and the low detailed Sims are annoying too. It is a good game if you cant get it for PC though, but I loved the story modes from The Sims 1 and Sims Bustin' Out, so it would of been good to see something like that again.
