Replaced bars in SLS, Can't serve food or drinks

Hey guys. I noticed all the bars in Starlight Shores have that dinky little home juice bar, so I've replaced them with the Duke bar. The mixologist shows up fine, but I can only order Spline Reticulator. No other drinks or food come up. What's up with this, and how can I fix it?

I seem to remember that someone using a mod got both the mixologist and the proprietor to show up and function properly. So basically, you need a mod.

EA did not program the bars and the performance venues to work together. Totally lame, I know. Another example of why it was a really bad idea to make two similarly themed EP's! There's a petition over on the official forum with several hundred signatures to make them work together but I don't think anyone is holding their breath.

The drinks menu is specified by the Late Night lot type. Since SHT is completely unrelated to Late Night there is no code running in a SHT venue to tell the bar tender to make a variety of drinks. As tangie pointed out, it is totally lame.

You have to go into edit town and change the zoning of the lot to a specific type of bar. Dive bar, Fusion bar, etc. The type of drinks served by the mixologist are dependent on the type of bar it is. It's probably doing the Spine Reticulator because that is the one drink that is available at all bars.

However, once you do that, it will no longer be recognized as a venue type for performances. Lot types for bars and venues are in the same options menu. So, you would end up with an establishment that is a bar type, and happens to contain a stage. It would no longer be a "venue".

Tangie0906 is correct, Bluegenjutsu has a tuning mod that allows professional bars to work in [ShowTime] venue lots.
