Lost novel

Virginia, in college, has nine creativity points, and has Sell a Great Novel locked in her Wants panel. She finished the novel, but the phone did not ring. A delivery man arrived, and I clicked on him - Accept Delivery. Virginia went towards him. He put the novel on the ground. She turned towards him, and as she did so the maid swept out, took the novel and put it on the bookshelf. The command Accept Delivery fell out of her queue. She went to the bookshelf, and the novel was not there. All that work, and nothing to show for it! No money, no novel.

I have searched this site for help, in vain. I have just downloaded MogHughson's hack for Apartment Life, which I have, but Virginia is not in an apartment. Should I unclick her Sell a Great Novel desire? If she waits till after graduation, will she be able to earn royalties then? Any help would be appreciated.

I've had students sell and receive money for novels while at University, and their books are still on the shelves in their former homes, and I don't have that hack, so there's no coding to disallow this at University. One author was in a Greek and the other two were in residences, and nobody had a maid, so it might be a problem with the maid, or if Virginia is living in a dorm.

A glitch? I had a similar thing happen once, and I just exited without saving and had my sim write again. Everything went fine the second time.

Does she only have a cellphone? Novel calls won't come through on cellphones - only landlines.
