ATTENTION - This tool is NO LONGER UPDATED!

If you want to install a framework to your Ambitions, Fast Lane, Outdoor Living or Generations, just download this file: http://chii.modthesims2.com/FrameworkSetup.zip and extract it to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Thats it. Next time you load the game you wont see the intro - if you do, then you screwed something up.

For more help, please see http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...Setup_and_Files

I will no longer be offering support for this tool and it is now deprecated!

Operating System: Windows

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Sims 3
Key: - File was updated after upload was posted
Filename - Tip: You can click the magnifying glass to see the archive contents Size Downloads Date
MonkeyBars.rar 79.3 KB 333,469 28th Dec 2009
Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Default Framework Installer
Thank you very much! Now I just need to figure out how to install it. Should I remove all my custom content prior to installing this?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to extract it. I have Windos 7 64-bit and I downloaded WinRAR but whenever I try to extract it, it gives me 11 error messages saying "Cannot Create...Access Denied." I don't know why this is. I went and looked at the ownership rights and it should be working but I just don't know. I could really use some help.

I also use Windows 7 64 bit but have no problems to extract the file.
Maybe you did download the WinRAR 32 bit version?
I use the 64 bit version of WinRAR so maybe this helps.

(to Delphy)
The installer works great here, i have Sims 3 base and WA all up to date till patch 2.4
Also I like to complement you with the Sims3 dashbaord programma it has fixed a lot of problems for me.

(sorry for my crapy englisch but I'm from Holland)

Uroboros: You have to install the framework manually for HELS.

Story books are full of fairy tales, of Kings and Queens, and the bluest skies.

Thanks Delphy for your help pages. Wow, nice job. I was a computer programer who had to write help pages all the time like this, nice job.

I followed all the instructions and got the green check mark. I am at a loss, no clue as to how to get the downloads to show up in my game. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you put your custom content in the mods/package folder in programfiles then they are in the right place.
They don't show up in the launcher but they will in CAS or build/buy mode if you start the game.

(giving Delphy some air to breathe )

so... i've not experienced any problems ever... *knock on wood* and I have WA and I've patched everything. I've used your Monkey since day one for custom content. I read that I need to put the d3dx9_31.dll file in my World Adventures' BIN folder... but I'm not sure that I should if everything is working. This new program is for if you are having trouble right? This isn't an update to your Monkey right????

Your downloads must have the extention .package for example newdress.package not the extention sims3pack.
The sims3pack goes in your download folder in My documents.
Sims3packs will show up in your launcher exept when you have patch your game till 1.8 / 2.3 or later then sometimes the game will not install custom content.
That is why I prefer the package downloads they always show up

By the way 46 is not to old to play the game because i'm 44 that what keep us young, Playing silly games

I was kidding... but nice to have a forty-sumthin playing too. My 18 yr son helped me pick out an awesome laptop, and so I set it up about the house. I have it on the counter while making dinner and today on my dresser while folding clothes... however, my sims-children were taken away from me while I was busy folding clothes! LOL... I had to chuckle to myself. I went to a previous save and paused .... too funny!

Thanks for your help.
Peace

Hi, although the tool has been apparently updated for HELS, I found that it still wouldn't install any of the framework for it, although it works perfectly for my core game and WA. It wouldn't even recognise that I had HELS installed until I made a copy of FullBuild_p03.package and renamed it as FullBuildsp1.package, which is what I assumed it was looking for. After that it still wouldn't install resource.cfg, d3dx9_31.dll or the Mods/Packages folder. It was easy enough to do those three things manually, but I'm guessing it's supposed to happen automatically. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and UK store-bought copies of all three games/packs, if that helps, although it appears the US and International discs of HEPS are the same.

Edit: And updated!
