Testers Wanted - Framework Installer tool - Now deprecated

by Tashiketh Posted 27th Dec 2009 at 11:23 PM - Updated 22nd Nov 2011 at 10:56 PM by Delphy
Open thumbnail gallery

If you want to install a framework to your Ambitions, Fast Lane, Outdoor Living or Generations, just download this file: http://chii.modthesims2.com/FrameworkSetup.zip and extract it to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Thats it. Next time you load the game you wont see the intro - if you do, then you screwed something up.

For more help, please see http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...Setup_and_Files

I will no longer be offering support for this tool and it is now deprecated!

Key: - File was updated after upload was posted

MonkeyBars.rar 79.3 KB 334,063 27th Dec 2009

Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

This keeps happening to me too. I open it, get the same errors as dsfblaze. Everything is ticked ecept global so I tick it and run again. It's not fixed and global is unticked again! Help!

Okay, so a big 360 here. Downloaded framework installer and helper monkey. Framework installer gives me the green tick that everything is installed as it should be and should accept custom content...I go use helper monkey, when it says INSTALL TO SIMS 3, down the bottom it has a big red cross and says 'no framework found' and the link sends me back here again

I am using monkey helper version Apparently this is a version for expansion packs? are these two programs meant to work in conjunction with one another? thanks in advance

Helper Monkey is outdated and shouldn't be used anymore. So long as this Framework Installer says everything is OK, thats fine - you can just copy paste files into your folder as normal.

gansherlyn: Why don't you just follow the wiki page at http://www.simswiki.info/wiki.php?t...g_Package_Files - that will take you through manually installing the framework.

Doris Mae, yes, it does.

This thread is not a place to get help with basic CC setup, it's only about the tool itself. Thats why there is a whole Help section available for you to go to.

I have a question that may sound really really stupid... but will this tool help me with making sure that mods don't conflict with each other? Will it show me which mods/packages are messing up my game? etc. etc. or does it just say that yes my game can accept CC... because I know my game accepts CC...

i have the same problem as Kanakitsune. I installed the framework file, have the resource.cfg and .dll file all in the places the guide said to put them but the framework is still not seeming to read it and so i have no custom stuff showing up.

I used installer monkey last year but got rid of my mods as it was hard to update the game. I now want to use mods again and so I have made the folder mods in C:/Documents and when I use this installer.exe it says the fundamentals have installed but when I try to use Installer Monkey to install the actual package file into the game it says that the folders dont have fundamentals in them... PLEASE HELP :p

I'm sorry if this question was asked already didnt make it through all 700-something posts. Please bare with me because I am completely dumb about all the sims technical stuff. I downloaded the Sims3 Dashboard because I was having custom content issues and don't want to have to delete the 1000s of cc I just downloaded and installed. So I came here because up in the left box it said there was no framework downloaded for my late night expansion. But when I downloaded this program, it said all framework components found etc etc. But it doesnt show late night as one of the sims 3 games have, like it's not reading that I have late night? How do I fix this?

Hello. I'm sure this has been posted but I'm not about to go through 30 pages of comments..

[Quote from messages]
6/4/2011 7:25:02 PM: [0] Checking path C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims(TM) 3.
6/4/2011 7:25:02 PM: [3] Found resource.cfg: No.
6/4/2011 7:25:02 PM: [3] Found Mods\Packages folder: No.
6/4/2011 7:25:02 PM: [3] The Installer could not find either a Resource.cfg or a Mods\Packages folder! This means that your Ambitions WILL NOT currently accept custom content and installation via the Helper Monkey.
6/4/2011 7:25:02 PM: [0] Please install the Framework by clicking the Install button..

I have the necessary folders created and the resource.cfg file in the mods folder as the wiki instructed and have indeed clicked the 'install' button. Though every time I click on it I get the same error message.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm having the exact same problem as the person before me. I had to uninstall everything when i got generations because my game would not patch, and when i tried to manually do things, i was having framework frailer. So I went to your program as my back up...which turned out not to work -.-;;

I downloaded the newest version of Helper Monkey and tried to instal nointro.package file. Helper monkey told me that no framework was found. So I downloaded Monkeybars. I got the green, everything should install fine line and then tried to download the nointo again, but it's still telling me that the framework is not found. Am I doing something wrong? I never had this much trouble installing CC with Sims 2.

Hi What happed to me was... I followed your instruction and just like what you have said, the intro did not appear but while the game was loading (opening part- the one with the title... e.g. Sims 3 Generations Expansion Pack ...) the game stopped and it said something like 'Sims 3 has stopped working'. I tried deleting the Mods folder (the one included in this download) from the Sims 3 folder and when I tried loading the game, it worked... so... what do you think? Thanks ! :D

I had Monkey bars and loved it, Acouple days ago my computer stopped working completely and the only way to get it back up and running was to restore to factory status. Now my problem is that I cant use anything in my game from MTS because everything once extracted is like a sheet or white writing paper, It isnt the blue square with the green gem or any thing else, tried to just move the white sheets to my mods folder but they still don't show up in the game and nothing I do helps the matter. I'm about ready to leave MTS completely and forget about it, no since in downloading from here if things wont install or work in my game. Please can you help me? I love this site and have used it forever. I have read everything and even tried sending my set up for Monkey bars to this computer but they don't come through.
