ATTENTION - This tool is NO LONGER UPDATED!

If you want to install a framework to your Ambitions, Fast Lane, Outdoor Living or Generations, just download this file: http://chii.modthesims2.com/FrameworkSetup.zip and extract it to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Thats it. Next time you load the game you wont see the intro - if you do, then you screwed something up.

For more help, please see http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...Setup_and_Files

I will no longer be offering support for this tool and it is now deprecated!

Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

skeetmour: No, those files wouldn't do that. If your game runs slowly with them in it's becuase of custom content. See my Dashboard for more info.

I feel very in a way "dumb" asking this...but what is and where do I find framework? Everyone seems very intelligent when it comes to mods and the sims 3 game. I have just recently installed AwesomeMod and it said I needed your helper monkey, Delphy or framework.zip. Then I realized the helper monkey was no longer being updated so I went to the new framework installer. It also had a framework.zip . I tried figuring out where that would go but I had no such luck. I am very confused with this and it seems as many times as I try to read instructions and figure out this AwesomeMod and framework I get myself more confused. please help

xxcaybaybayxx, just download the rar file in the download tab, extract, and run the exe file thats inside. It'll install the framework for you.

I got the green "Framework installation appears OK" message, then I tried to download the Statue of Life mod, I extracted it using WinRAR (Windows 7) and saved it to my desktop, I double clicked the icon on my desktop and it came up with the "open with" window, I clicked the framework installer and then ok. Then, it asked "Do you want to allow the following programs from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" when I click yes, it takes me back to the green "Framework installation appears OK" message. I dont know what to do. Am I doing something wrong? I have windows 7 (64 bit) and WA. Please help!

Maeghan: The framework installer doesn't actually install files for you. (it says it doesn't in the overview...)

Please read Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki in the Help -> Sims 3 dropdown.

I run the program and it installed everything. The game started and I though it was going to work but... the loading game bar completed and the game didn't start. It loads but only for the main screen. I mean I can't even enter to choose my neighbourhood or anything.

Here's the screen (in spanish XD):

My computer has Windows 7.

What can I do?

Thank you

I know about the Help forum but I don't have any other problem, it is only after installing THIS program. That's why I posted here... And you told on the main page we should post screens if we have errors >.>

Only errors with using the program, not errors with the game.

(btw that error is usually becuase of a conflict between the mods you are using and the game/patch version, but again, the help forum is your friend here)

This program installs framework and mods folder in all 3 locations (I have WA and HELS). Is that correct? Even with WA I used to keep all CC in the BG mods folder. Should I move it to HELS mods folder now?

11Aracelis11: If everything works in the BG folder, thats fine. It installs the framework in all 3 locations becuase even though its still reading from the base folder, you still need the DLL in the latest pack folder to load coremods.

Thanks, Delphy, for your kind attention. Out of curiosity ('cause I'm far from being a computer wiz :lol), could I manually delete the exceeding mods folders and DLL files? Another question: I have to perform some more tests but I think .dcb files are not showing in the games when I put them in BG DCCache folder. Should I locate them in the last pack folder as the DLL file?

You can delete the Mods\Packages folders from the EP/SP but don't remove the .DLL file.

As for the .dbc file - that was just for testing. I can't guarantee it'll work, but you can simply rename it to .package and it should do.

Synikal - These tools won't cause that problem but the mods you installed might - please see the thread you posted in Help for suggestions on fixing it.

I've moved the .dcb files to HELS\Mods\DCCache and they are working now. I guess it will be easier if I keep all files in the last pack.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi

I ammended the pre-installation of everything using your tool however the game now basically freezes at the loading screen or seems as though it will take hours to go to the main menu part of the game. I'm wondering if this could be because I am running version 1.10 of the base game. If this isnt a problem could someone please give advice as to what to do.

Cheers
