J'Adore Diner is a small 1950's style diner on a 1x3 lot. It took a bit of playing to get the original J'Adore Diner to work well as both an owned and unowned business. Alas, that diner was built on a hill, which warps other lots when moved. So, I rebuilt it on a flat lot. I've played through it a bit as an owned an unowned business, just to make sure the revamped version didn't have any major flaws like forgetting the stove. What can I say, I like this little diner, humble though it may be.
Some easthetic tips: I use a juke box to be able to set the music. You may want to put in speakers tuned to "Oldies" for that 50's feel instead. The podium you use changes the serving staff in an unowned business. This one is set to formal. In an owned business, the plantings may be trimmed to cut down on maintenance if you start to find the plantings cumbersome. Some playing tips: The fridge may be a problem in an unowned business. If sims start to use it, you can delete it, turn it to the wall or have an owner lock the door. If you play it as an owned business, unlock the doors before setting it to unowned as staff won't be able to go through locked doors. If this happens: Have someone (perhaps someone created for the purpose) buy the lot, unlock the doors and resell the lot to the community. One person can just barely run the diner on their own, but it will run them ragged and leave some customers standing around quite a bit. Two people can manage to run it on their own through 2-3 stars. In any case, start checking the cooking skills of people looking for work. Good cooks are hard to find. Fortunately, diners don't need good cooks. Be sure to trim the menu to items your chef can cook. Use the podium to do this. Lot Size: 1x3 Lot Price: ~$45K 14 people have said thanks to deann000 for this download. For more information about this creator and their policies or details, click here. Screenshots
