This is one of my favorite starships of all time. (Obviously, or I wouldn't have made 3 versions of it) Star Trek is the queen mother of all sci-fi, and without the Galaxy class starship, there would have been no TNG. This ship is where it all started. (I can get emotional about this starship)
The Galaxy project (and its sister Nebula project) began in the early 2350s. In its time it was Starfleet's most advanced design. It features many new technologies unavailable to earlier starship designs. It was sometimes described as a "Waldorf Astoria in space", and indeed it was one of Starfleet's largest and most luxurious vessels of all time. Captains vied for command of the Galaxy class, as it was considered a very prestigious assignment. The Galaxy class is designated an explorer and is an all-around multi-role starship. It's equally suited to combat and exploration. It's built on a 5x6 lot and has room for a crew of 14-16. (There's a little less deck space than in my second Galaxy class lot). The deckplan looks like this: Deck 1- 2 transporter rooms, security, engineering, hydroponics, racquetball court, non-essential systems Deck 2- Shuttle bay, science lab, computer core, auxilary engineering stations, non-essential systems Deck 3- Rec room, non-essential systems Deck 4- Bridge, ready room, observation lounge, mess, sickbay, astrometrics, holodeck, crew lounge, non-essential systems Notes: The toilet (in security on Deck 1) is pictured but not included. I had to remove due to file size. I furnished only the essential bits of the starship. That is, the bridge has a pretty standard layout, engineering has consoles and a warp core, and the transporter rooms are equipped. There are forcefields placed in the cells of security. All other furnishings are at the captain's discretion. The navigational deflector and the bussard collectors on both nacelles light up. However, if you move your sims out of the lot, all the furniture, including the lights, is sold. Placement of a new light is a bit tricky. The decorative "dummy" meshes will remain in place.
