This tool in this particular format is no longer being updated, and thus will not be updated for World Adventures. I heavily recommend the Monkey Bars installer for actually setting up your framework. This can be downloaded here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=384014 If you have issues with SOME of your content not showing up, this is not a Monkey problem. If you have issues with Access Denied, see below (or install manually) If you have issues with NONE of your content showing up, use the Monkey Bars installer as above. I am no longer providing active support for this program, and it will be replaced in the near future by another tool. This tool will automagically set up your game so you can use custom content .package files for The Sims 3. Once set up, you can just double-click the files to put them where they need to go. No need to mess with Resource.cfg yourself or create any folders - just run the program, and from then on, you can just double-click the files. You still have to double-click files to install, but everything else is done for you! You can also right-click on a file to send it to a particular folder, so you can have subfolders and keep your downloads organized. This tool will NOT install files that are in .sims3pack format (the game's Launcher does that) or .sim format (put those files in your My Documents\Electronic Arts\SavedSims folder). This only works on .package files. The Helper Monkey cannot cause your game to crash. The only thing that can is the mods and packages you have installed. I repeat, the helper monkey by itself cannot cause your game to crash. If you have load crash problems, see this: Game Help:Sims_3_Loading_Crasheswiki Please read the Game Help section thoroughly (See the Quick Menu). Do NOT post about issues with CC not showing up on this thread. No, it doesn't. Step 1: Sims 3 must not be running. Shut down your game. Step 2: Download and extract the rar file. Do NOT extract it to your game folder, your sims 3 folder, your my docs Sims 3 or to any location involving the game whatsoever. Extract it to your desktop. Step 3: Run the TS3InstallHelper.exe program by double-clicking on it. Step 4: Follow the wizard. Once the program is installed, to actually use it, you just have to find a Sims 3 .package file (like one of the ones you download from here), right click, and you should see the following:
Note: For an alternative Framework installer, see http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=384014 If you are using Vista (either normal or 64bit) then you may encounter this message. It occurs becuase of the location of the game files - in Program Files - often needs admin rights to access. On Vista you have the UAC which is either disabled or enabled, but you also have either Admin or Limited users.
(Note: The above assumes that you downloaded the TS3InstallHelper.rar on or after the edit time of this message). You can try to get around by doing the following: - Download the TS3InstallHelperUAC.rar. - Install as per installation instructions Or turning UAC off. ![]() Note: If, after install, you dont get the right click menus, try the following: - Right click a package file - Select Open With - Browse to the helper monkey (C:\Program Files\Mad Scientist Productions\InstallHelper\InstallHelper.exe) - Open the file with the monkey Extract the package file as normal using WinRar, WinZip, etc. Easiest method: Just double-click on the file. Or, for subfolders: Right click the package file and select one of the 5 different menu items to send it to a specific subfolder. Note that .package files installed via this method will not have the "custom content" flag set. This is a limitation of the game and not of the helper monkey! All you have to do is to browse to your Sims 3 mods folder folder (usually C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages) and then delete the files from the disk. Requires .NET Framework 3.5 Please note that this overwrites any existing Resource.cfg file in the Sims 3 root folder. Also please note that it will change the default handler for .package files. If you have your .package files associated with SimPE, then you will need to set up your file associations again after running this program. (Usually via Open With...) This does not work on Macs. ![]() - Added "Open Mods Folder" to right click - Added confirmation dialog box on package already existing - Added check for d3dx9_31.dll on install, to abort, retry or ignore - Added extra check for TS3 install path - Added TS3 Install Helper to Add/Remove programs list Thanks to Lethe_s for the monkey idea, and HystericalParoxysm and Jon for the actual monkey icon. ![]() PS no monkeys where harmed in the production of this tool, however, we had to buy a new boxful of fez hats becuase they kept getting eaten. 15665 people have said thanks to Delphy for this download.
