Hey, this is great, but I think it'd be way better with more door models to choose from.

I can understand that most ppl here would want these doors for an apartment, but I'm using this door for something a bit different, so I like a wide variety of doors.

also: how did you do this? what programs and etc. instead of relying on other ppl, maybe i could try to make one.

Yes. Please make a new version. Having to unlock and lock the door everyday for the maid is a bit tedious. Other than that, I love the door.

Does this door stay locked when you change household? The original doesn't, but it would be handy if it did.

This project is much needed. Please continue with Multi Owners Doors and let service sims have access. Also, please consider how it would take this project up a whole new level if you would allow the number of assignable keys to allow 18 sims. Oh, the apartments we could create!

Hello and greetings to everybody
... sorry for the delay - but I had to care some important (real-life) things, so I have not been able to continue developing this project anymore for the last few months.
But now I am on it again and hopefully there will be some results in the near future including the service people issue and maybe an edition to allow more than eight people.
I also had been planning (before the break) to make some new types of doors with special filters like a Teen-only/adults-only door...etc.

Sorry, I didn't test that yet. But I guess it should do so because the list of owners is being store the the respective object (the door) itself as a non-static variable.
But anyway - maybe someone else can confirm whether this works or not?

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to create and develop this. It's pretty cool to be able to have apartments in the game. The only problem that I've encountered so far is that my sims will often attempt to use the bathroom or kitchen behind one of the doors that they are not assigned to. They stand there and complain for HOURS and eventually end up peeing themselves because they couldn't take the initiative and return to their own apartment. It seems to be worse on some lots and not so bad on others. Am I missing something or are my sims just a bit more special than the average ones?

It also appears that once I change the active household, the doors reset to having no owners and everyone will become stuck either in the house or outside.

About Sims waiting in front of a door:
I observed that kind of behavior too. It seems to me that this is due to the way of how the so called routing for Sims is being computed. Obviously the program is not capable to make always the best choice for a Sim to route when there a several options. Often I have seen Sims routing to a bed three rooms down the hallway although they were standing right in front a bed that was free (and not labeled with another Sims name). So I guess this is the same problem that causes the problems with the door that you describe. Sometimes it takes a long time until a Sim 'understands' that it is possible (or not) to reach an object that the Sim has been targeting at. In my opinion (and according to my observations) there are certain situations where Sims switch to a stand-by mode if they can't handle a decision for whatever reason. For example I had a house with two (normal EA) doors to the outside, one of them was the front door, the other one was a (back) door leading to the garden. What happened was that after a while most of the family members gathered at a far corner of the garden where they stayed then for hours until they started peeing and starving and complaining and all kinds of stuff. They simply couldn't make a decision between the two ways to enter the house, and as result they switched to a stand-by behavior. The problem was solved immediately when I had built a fence dividing the garden in two parts so that it was no longer possible to reach the front door from the garden.
In other words I don't think this problem is a special problem of the MODoor.

The other problem that you where talking about - concerning changing the active household - is something I haven't really investigated yet... I have to admit. But I will do so, since it seems some other people experienced the same problem.

I have base game and downladed all the doors except for the Egypt door and just updated to patch 1.17 and when I open build mode and then select one of the doors, the game closes. I made sure I had the most recent version of the doors and tried it twice with the sme result each time. I really want to use these doors, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for that, larrydot. I already had several emergency calls in the thread of my other Door ( click here: MODoor 2.0 )
All I can say at the moment is that this door has only been tested for 1.15 and below versions and I haven't installed the new update patch yet.
But I'm on it and I'll try my best to adapt my script to the new software patch (1.17) asap.

Sorry, but I decided NOT to upgrade the MODoor (1.0)
You can use the MODoor 2.0 instead which can be downloaded from HERE.
