Updates
2014-03-15 - Compatible with 1.67. No changes.

scope
This is just a little hotfix to cure the running disease that widely affects all sorts of sims. Should fix permanent sneaking and basically every walk style that got stickied to a sim as well.

usage
Just put it in your mods folder. To access the menus, you have to activate the TestingCheats. To activate the automatic purging of sticky walkstyles, click on a mailbox, choose 2BTech and "Activate Walkstyle Auto-Purging". The setting will be persistent and saved together with your savegame, so you only need to do it once in every 'hood. With Auto-Purging active, sticky walk styles of your active sims will be wiped out every 20 minutes of game time. NPCs will be fixed every 8 hours of game time. Plus, everyone's walk styles will be initally wiped out after loading a savegame. BTW: Auto-Purging does the same thing as the manual "Clear Walkstyles - Attempt To Recover Valid State" interaction.

There are a couple of testing interactions that are only accessible if the TestingCheats are enabled. I found them handy so I left them in. Please read the specifics section if you want to use these interactions. If TestingCheats are enabled, 2BTech pie menus will show up on every sim, lot and mailbox. You can manually clear or see a sim's walkstyles individual or in bulk, or reset a sim in the sims' menus and reset all sims or clear all walkstyles. You'll see. It should all be self-explanatory.

If the target sim or lot belongs to a different household, you can select that household, bypassing the Edit Town menu. I only recommend this for testing purposes or if you don't mind to lose all wishes and opportunities of the currently active household.

Shown below is the menu on sims:

compatibility
Supported for game version 1.67. Should work with game versions from 1.31 upwards, though.

specifics
The approach of this mod is pretty aggressive as it totally cleans out all previous walk styles. It will however apply the most sensible walk style afterwards; for most sims that's Auto. There's only one cardinal sanity check: The walk styles won't be touched if a sim is currently routing somewhere.

I've tested it for some time and found no glitches. Sims will still run or use the "strenuos march" walk style if the routing distance is over a certain amount or they're late for work or something. Actually I found no apparent cutbacks at all which makes me wonder why the devs wanted to save the previous walk styles at all.

There are no sanity checks for the testing interactions as well, except a check for the Select Sim interaction which will check if the sim isn't homeless. I've used these interactions quite some time since this mod is actually a spin-off from my ages-old personal debugging mod and never managed to break anything. I still advise care.

possible conflicts
This is a scripting mod and as such the possibility for conflicts with other mods, no matter what kind, is next to non-existant. I can't think of any kind of mod which could possibly interfere with this mod. You might run into problems if you choose to give a sim a walk style that came with an EP and you don't have that EP. I didn't bother to investigate that. Simply use your brain and save your game before you try anything weird.

support
Please respect that I support my mods but not mods or even custom content in general, not in my upload threads anyway and certainly not if you ask me by PM. I will always try to find and squish bugs, therefore I appreciate bug reports. If one of my mods isn't working for you, please at least try to ensure that it's a failure of my mod before you ask for help. You'll find the link to the detailed CC Basics tutorial when you click on the Install Instructions tab. I am a compassionate guy, but please understand that I can only muster so much endurance to address issues completely unrelated to my mods.

disclaimer
Might lead to a serious case of squished brain. Your game should be safe, though.
