UPDATE: It appears I made a stupid mistake when assembling the mesh file. The now-uploaded version shouldn't replace Maxis sundress mesh. The new file is named CoalTarAndGold-1.01.zip Please make sure the old mesh and recolours are deleted.
My attempt to "modernize" a Victorian formal dress. Its shape is roughly early 1880s, but its colours are simpler and real Victorian dresses definitely never were this revealing. Colours are mauve and crimson, the first two synthetic dyes that became widely used, hence the name.
Enabled for YA/A formalwear.
Other CC used in screenshots:
Skin tone is a default replacement I had since forever and I'm not really sure who made it since I've lost the original archive, but I think it's a modified Louis skin by Jwilson5 at SXS.
The rock is a part of the waterfall shower set by Marvine: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=275659
Studio-style background by Meow9372: http://www.insimenator.org/index.ph...html#msg1154452
Use policy:
Feel free to do whatever you want (recolour, convert, re-mesh, redistribute, etc.) as long as it's kept off paysites of any kind and proper credit is given.
Technical/recolour notes:
UVs are almost exactly the same as Celebration Stuff "ball wedding" dress, they're good enough for most part, but parts of the back of the skirt near the line that joins the front are more distorted than I'm comfortable with. Most recolours of that dress should work on this one too with minimal changes (mainly, removing the necklace.) Also, unlike the original, this dress is bump-mappable.
Polygon Counts:
1906 polygons
Additional Credits:
Texture made in Paint.Net, mesh in Milkshape, IrfanView was used for minor image edits.

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below for more information.
