A most interesting home...

This is my take on Gaudi's Casa El Capricho from 1885. His whimsical house has had many alterations over the years; the greenhouse on back was removed and more rooms added in its place, then those removed and the greenhouse restored. I followed the floor plans with the extra rooms, which allow for single floor living. I've also kept a more "dirty" color scheme, which highlights the addition that has similar wall treatments, though a "newer, cleaner" color palette. (Currently, the real building is cleaned up nicely and gleams.) I've made some practical design changes to fit better with the building limitations in the Sims 3, mostly regarding the tower. It has been changed from round to a six-pointed star, topped with a eight-pointed star-shaped roof. The basement and attic are completely accessible, though unfurnished (aside from a bathroom and laundry), with plenty of room to expand into for hobbies and other needs. The car from Fast Lane is not included with the lot.

Though I did not build it there, the home looks amazing in Monte Vista. The 50x50 lot at 25 Verona Way is perfect.

It has long driven me crazy that this upload lacked a title image. It did not have one because of its previous awkward, unwieldy name: Mi Casa Es Su Casa El Capricho. As it was not a direct copy of Gaudi's work, I wanted to give it a name of its own. However at the time I could not come up with anything decent, it seems. That has been rectified. La Casa Vistosa means The Colorful House, which is nicely appropriate. Along with a new title page to match my other uploads, I took all new photos. The download has remained the same, and does carry the old name. This is one of my most favorite builds ever, and it is nice to finally give it some of its due.
