As I was sitting here last summer, watching it rain, I decided to "attempt" a festival lot. After 3 weeks of building, play-testing, changing and whatnot this lot is the result. It isn't part of my hometown series as it only has a fair once a year so doesn't apply (although this lot is inspired by the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede), but as this is a game I wanted a really nice woodland themed festival lot to reflect the surrounding area of northern British Columbia. Welcome to the Spruce Ridge Festival Grounds!
As you'll probably notice, the pics were taken in different locations. This is because I was testing the portability of the lot to ensure I didn't screw up the festival portion. Seems I did it correctly after a couple installs.
It has a lot going on so I'll try to describe what is definite:
There is a year-round casino, bathrooms, roller coaster, grandstand and racetrack. The seasons have their different inclusions which are the standard game items plus the carousel and whatever else I could find to add so my sims would be well entertained! Of course, being the realist I am, I "tried" to make it realistic in the process O_o
I severely play-tested this lot but PLEASE leave a comment to let me know if you find anything that I easily could have missed!
There was no custom content used in the creation of this lot. Note: A couple of the pics show a Canadian Flag. These were taken with my gameplay file so I could capture the different seasons, which has the replacement flag. The building of this lot did not incorporate the flag and it is not in the gamefile. The main shots taken of the front and summer overview of the lot show the correct in-game flag.
Expansion packs used: All but Showtime, Supernatural, and Into the Future.
Stuff packs used: Fast Lane, Outdoor Living & Movie Stuff
Store Items used:
World of Wonder Carousel Collection
The Sims Classic-Welcome Back to Three Lakes Set
The Boardwalk: Sky High Roller Coaster Cart
Up the Ante Compilation
Atomic Jack Planet Attack Pinball Machine
Bloodcurdling Bags - Free Item
Sizzle Baby Pro Deep Fryer
Rustic Kerosene Wall Lamp
Le Cirque Esprit-Perfect Pony Carousel Spring Rider
The Royales Window
20,000 Palms Under the Sea
Woodland Counter
Classic Gumball Machine
Spa Necessities
Decorative Presents - Free Item
Souped Up Napkin Holder
Buzzer Beater Free Throw Machine
Infinite Zen Massage Table
Tranquil Trickle Fountain
The Complete Barnacle Bay Adventure - for the Grog Barrel No other items from the world were used.
More Holiday Presents for the Holiday Tree
Note: For those that don't have all these store items, but would still like to use the festival portion of the lot without the roller coaster, casino and/or carousel, the only items needed would be the Royales Window, the Woodland Counter, the Rustic Kerosene Wall Lamp, the Sims Classic Heinmeity Column and the Sims Classic Survival of the Fittest Fixture , however the casino building would be "empty" but still have the bar and washrooms. The grandstand/racetrack is all game items "except" the barrels, which are the grog barrel from Barnacle Bay.
I had scads of fun building this lot, and I hope you have as much fun playing it!
Lot Size: 64x64
Lot Price: 396000
**Update!! This lot will always cause the red screen graphics issue on the 64bit version of the game, with and without "enable object hiding" on or off. There's no way to fix it on this lot, so I've decided that I'll try to build a new festival lot that avoids the issue. I'll get it uploaded when I can.

2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

About Me
I've been playing the Sims since the Sims 1 came out in 2000, and started building lots and creating Sims in the Sims 3.
My favourite builds are worn out, rat infested hovels but I also enjoy the challenge of creating lots that represent buildings in the real world.
All of my lots were created on an iMac, but after getting the new M1 iMac, I've learned some of those lots have graphics issues, so I'm slowly altering them to avoid this issue. I will upload the M1 compatible files when they are completed.
All new builds are completed in Version 1.70 (64-bit Mac). They are tested on a Windows computer and an older iMac running Version 1.67 (32-bit).
