Full House Mod - Increase your Household Size! [Still Compatible as of 1/25/18]

Behavior
The mod will let you go to 24 slots by default. The reason for this is to help limit performance issues on lower-end machines. However since it's not my place to decide where your limits are, you can indeed override this by adding "true" to the end of your command.

If you have a sim with a space in the first or last name, then that part of the name will need to be wrapped in quotes
Example:

Add extra sim to your household:

Delete a sim by name:

NOTICE
The experimental version no longer exists as Maxis fixed their portrait generation and the game no longer crashes. Feel free to add as many sims as you can handle. The amount of sims you can have without performance issues depends heavily on your computer's abilities.

Workarounds:
You can not edit a fullhouse family in CAS, as it will cut the family size back down to 8. Below are alternatives for managing fullhouse households.
  • Create a Household: Click on a lot and select Create Household there instead.
  • Place Existing Household: Click on a lot and select Create Household. Then from CAS, load the household from the gallery/library.
  • Delete a Sim: Only 8 sims will show up in CAS. To delete extra sims, use the included tm.deletesim command.
  • Edit a Sim: You can not edit a sim while they're part of an extended household. Doing so will remove all but 8 sims.

NOTE: This is a script mod. You must have script mods turned on in your gameplay options > "Other" tab. The mod must be left zipped! and you must be on the latest patch for them to function. New patches may disable the script mod in gameplay options.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:
1. Download: Click the File tab to see the download link. Click the link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
Read the upload description for installation instructions. If nothing else is specified, do the following:
No Extraction Required (Script Mods):
1. Cut and paste the .zip file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
Script mods need to be placed directly in \Mods or one level below that (e.g. \Mods\Scripts) – sub-folders nested any deeper won’t work.
Extraction Required (Everything Else):
1. Use WinRAR (Windows) to extract the .package file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s).
2. Cut and paste the .package file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\


Need more information?
  • Anyone can use both .rar and .zip files easily! On Windows, use WinRAR.
  • If you don't have a Mods folder, just make one.
  • Mod still not working? Make sure you have script mods enabled

Will you be able to include the ability to make babies in an over 8 Sim household, or is it not possible to do?

Follow the steps in my description. There's a few reasons why it might not be working for you.

It is possible to do. I did it myself.

I used this tool to extract a lot of .xml files:

Following the instructions there you end up in a lot of folders. In the tun folder you will find the file:
S4_03B33DDF_00000000_A73068C2B552CB25.xml

It contains the value you need to change. Change MAXIMUM_SIZE">8< to MAXIMUM_SIZE">16<

Maybe the auther of Full House Mod could include this xml mod to it.

It'd be nice if you could move in Sims the old fashioned way, through the split/merge option. But that would be an entirely different mod I'd assume.
@Morphar I ended up editing that file and making it for myself, so far it seems to be working.

im having a problem.. it does add an identical sim to my housegold.. but it's just a copy.. and it's a reset sim.. that means all relationships are back to 0 and all that.. i would love if i could actually add the sim that i play with in another household, and not just a reset copy..

With "it" do you mean this mod? That is an EA issue not caused by this mod.

Nice work. I would add this in but it looks like someone already uploaded it as a separate mod... simple enough so I'll leave them as two pieces. Considering going beyond 9 sims still makes the Manage Household menu crashable, probably best to leave the babies as an optional add-on.

I really don't get it. The mod shows up in the mod list, so it is installed. But when I type tm.fullhouse <firstname> <lastname> nothing happens.
I wanted to add this girl named Layla Antoinette, so I tried
tm.fullhouse Layla Antoinette
tm.fullhouse <Layla> <Antoinette>
tm.fullhouse Layla Antoinette True
tm.fullhouse <Layla> <Antoinette> true
tm.fullhouse <firstname> <lastname>

Am I doing something wrong or isn't it working?
I also can't create more than 8 sims in CAS, but idk if that's normal.
Can somebody please help me?

OMG...I'm having the exact problem....no matter how I type the name in, nothing happens... It is very frustrating... All the other mods work fine..it's just this one. What are we doing wrong??? Can someone help???

You have seen too much. Just put the .zip file in Mods.

Python is the readable script language. When compiled and optimized it will be a .pyo.
.py: This is normally the input source code that you've written.
.pyc: This is the compiled bytecode. If you import a module, python will build a *.pyc file that contains the bytecode to make importing it again later easier (and faster).
.pyo: This is a *.pyc file that was created while optimizations (-O) was on.
.pyd: This is basically a windows dll file.

My experiment with experimental version:

I used the Maxsims25 mod and four couples to produce a full house with 25 sims.
I then used this mod to split the houshold into four families
I first moved in a "joker" in an emty lot and then used the commands in this mod to move them there. You can't move the new houshold untill you have reduced the big houshold to less than 10 sims. If any lot contains more than 9 sims the game will crash. It's the houshold manager (where you can see all families) that crashes.

It's a pity that we have not found the limitation in the houshold manager.

Great mod but the experimental mod is not working at all but the first one (only can go up to 9 sims) works. Is the experimental one not working for anyone else?

In what way is it not working for you?
Can you move a sim inte a lot with less than 8 sims?

Have you enabled script mods in the game options?
Can you move a sim to a lot with less than 8 sims?
