This is a mesh override for "The Single Bed a la Mode" and "The Four Post Bed", which are the "Country" beds from the Seasons expansion pack. It changes the appearance of objects from Seasons, so Seasons is required. The override package is Compressorized.

With Michelle's permission, I've used her postless version of the "Country" bed frames to replace the Maxis four-poster bed frames. I've hardly ever used those beds because I don't really care for the four-poster design, so I didn't see much point in keeping the Maxis version in my Buy catalog.

The postless double and single bed frames both use the textures of the Maxis "Four Post Bed", so all you need to do is place the override package in your Downloads folder, or any sub-folder of it. Recolors will not be affected, and any "Country" beds that have already been placed will look the same, except for having their posts removed. To restore the posts, just remove the override package. You can use a texture replacement for "The Four Post Bed" along with this mesh override.

Note: Buy Mode previews may show the frames with posts, though this may depend on which recolor options are selected. Catalog thumbnails will show the frames with posts. Thumbnails for selecting recolor will also show the frames with posts if they were generated before the overrride was installed. However, since the override doesn't affect the Maxis textures, the previews and thumbnails are otherwise accurate. If you want to adjust this, you can use Ctrl-right click to refresh the thumbnails or allow the game to regenerate ObjectThumbnails.package.

Michelle took §50 off the price of each of the beds, and adjusted the depreciation. Because putting a replacement OBJD for a Maxis object in the Downloads folder-tree causes the custom content "star" and delete option to appear in Buy Mode, I've made a separate package to handle this. Installing it is optional, but if you do choose to install it, place it in the \TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins folder for your latest expansion pack, or for M&G, if you have it. If you installed M&G from the Fun With Pets Collection, that should be under C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Fun with Pets Collection\SP9\ , otherwise, see the Place in Program Files section under the Install Instructions tab for instructions. If using the Bins folder doesn't work for M&G, try the \TSData\Res\StuffPack folder.

The bedding in the screenshot is Michelle's replacement for the Seasons "Country" bedding, which is fixed so it will look right on single beds.

Polygon Counts:
The Four Post Bed: 2284 faces, 2122 vertices (less than Maxis)
The Single Bed a la Mode: 1864 faces, 1830 vertices (less than Maxis)

Note: These values are for the frames. While the bed meshes use two GMDC resources, one for the frame and one for everything else, this override only affects the GMDCs for the frames. The GMDCs for "everything else" are still Maxis. For The Single Bed a la Mode, "everything else" adds 960 faces and 632 vertices; for The Four Post Bed, it adds 1516 faces and 930 vertices.

Additional Credits:
Maxis, for the original objects.
Michelle, for removing the posts.

HugeLunatic's mesh override for the "Touch of Teak Bed" gave me an example of a mesh override for a bed.
The Buy Mode recategorizers by BlueSoup and Phaenoh helped me get a handle on replacement OBJDs for Maxis objects.
