Hello everyone,

this little tuning Mod adds a SimPicker to the Unlock Door Pie Menu.

Don't upload this mod on other sites without permission

Checked with Game Version >1.29.69.1020<

New:

28.04.2017 - Morphar posted a possible explanation for the Issue where Sims still can not go through unlocked doors (added below in description)

25.04.2017 - There seems to be a Problem with this Mod were it is not working correctly. So far i did not experience the same Problems. I will try to play/test more to see if i can get those Problems too to get a clue of a reason why those appear. Until then i suggest that everyone who has Problems takes this mod out for now.

With the SimPicker you can choose up to 20 Sims including Sims who are not in the Household to unlock the door for.

Lock the Door for all.
Then Unlock it for chosen Sims.
The Door is then unlocked for the chosen Sims and the Active Sim which you have used to Unlock the Door.

I cannot guarantee that this will work on Apartment Front Doors. They seem to have a different Unlock/Lock mechanic from the Outside.

There sometimes is still an issue where Sims still can not go through unlocked doors or go through doors you just locked.

Morphar posted (read whole Post here) a possible explanation for this:

If a sim has already decided on their route to a location, locking a door on their chosen path will be ignored until the next time they try to find a route somewhere.



Available languages: English (default), Polish, Dutch and German

Any mod that modifies the same files listet below will likely conflict!

Basic Download and Install Instructions:
1. Download: Click the File tab to see the download link. Click the link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
Read the upload description for installation instructions. If nothing else is specified, do the following:
No Extraction Required (Script Mods):
1. Cut and paste the .zip file(s) into your Mods folder
  • Windows XP: Documents and Settings\(Current User Account)\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
  • Windows Vista/7/8/8.1: Users\(Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\
Script mods need to be placed directly in \Mods or one level below that (e.g. \Mods\Scripts) – sub-folders nested any deeper won’t work.
Extraction Required (Everything Else):
1. Use WinRAR (Windows) to extract the .package file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s).
2. Cut and paste the .package file(s) into your Mods folder

Also just to add, for the one "yelling" CAPS has always been referred to as raising ones voice or for certain abbreviations. This has been around since the first chat rooms and messengers like MSN and Yahoo back in the 90's. If you want to emphasis you need to put it in quotes. Hope that helps


I've been around, since long before the first chatrooms, and to clarify: THIS isn't yelling; THIS is emphasis. THIS IS YELLING! This is the first time, SINCE (emphasis*) the first chatrooms, that anyone ever accused me a of yelling...probably because I'm not. Thanks.

I as well have been around since before Internet but that doesn't mean anything. This isn't the place to discuss your netiquette. But regardless of what you were told here's what I was referring to:

1) using CAPITAL LETTERS to make words look "louder",
2) using *asterisks* to put sparklers around emphasized words, and
3) s p a c i n g words o u t, possibly accompanied by 1) or 2).

Number 1 doesn't necessarily mean yelling but it is referred to as louder speaking and can be taken as being rude. I didn't make this up, just google it and you will see. I will also not feed into this discussion, this is the last I will say on this topic.

Maybe because i told/asked you twice to stop doing that because for me you are yelling at me?

Look, i work for hours every day over the past weeks on my Mods. Making new Mods and supporting the existing ones.
I'm doing those for myself because these are things i want in my game and i'm just sharing them with the community.
I'll gladly help when someone has Problems or fix Issues when i can actually fix them. But i don't like (and i don't think i have to be) being yelled at and i told you that for me Caps means "yelling".

This is exactly what I was missing in my game!
I made a quick translation into Dutch (it was only one line but still, immersion! )

Better late than never.

The mod Door Locks for TS4 by Scumbumbo works on community lots. As it has not been updated it will not work on apartments and it is an issue with Dine Out.
I don't have Dine out so for me the only issue is apartments. Community lots work.

So if you could fix the community lots in your mod it will replace Scumbumbos mod totally. I don't know if you can use any of his code or not.

Scumbumbo writes in the description:

In his description I also found this that may explain the issue I had with a sim that passed the gate. It was already routed before I locked the door.

First, thx for the possible explanation for the Problem. Routing Errors makes sence since it is often an Issue in this game. I will add that to the Description.

This whole Routing System is a huge mysery for me anyway^^

Second, what needs to be fixed? Do you mean adding this to gates on Community Lots? I already did that.

A missunderstanding by me. I thought gates and doors worked the same. so I just tested the doors on the science lab. They grow vegetables in a kind of greenhouse with doors. I could not lock the doors.
Now I put a fence in front of the door with a gate. The gate in the fence work as you said with your mod.
No problem but if it's easy to fix locks on doors on community lots it would be even better. If you have a hotell, guests can't lock the door to their room. Other sims goes stright in.

Was able to test again yesterday to see if I got it figured out. This time it seemed to work just fine. I did the locks while the whole lot was asleep that way I knew no one was trying to do something while I was locking them. Now that I have more of an understanding on how the EA doors lock along with this mod I think I got it figured out and all worked the way it was supposed to. Thank you

Yeah the Routing System is messed up sometimes. Had that with my Test Sims in the meantime. With my Play Sims i never had that Problem. Unfortunaly it's nothing i can change. Honestly i was surprised it worked at all with NPCs

I tried this out today. I think I still need to figure it out more, but I did notice one thing...

In practice, however, I seems I can only chose eligible Sims who are actually on the Lot, which might pose me problems if I relock the door so I can refresh who can or can't go through it.
