So we all know that Sims can drink at a bar, but they can't actually get drunk which is pretty disappointing so I decided to make my own mod that allows sims to get drunk off those bar drinks!
For now, it's a pretty simple mod consisting of 4 buffs which are "buzzed" which occurs right after the first drink. It's a simple 1+ happy buff which lasts for 45 minutes. Then the "drunk" buff kicks in after the buzzed buff wears off. The buff is a +10 dazed buff which has several effects such as increasing the energy and bladder needs decay and increasing the amount of friendship and romance gained from social interactions. The "wasted" buff is also a 10+ dazed buff which has a chance of occurring if your sim keeps drinking while they have the drunk buff. It's basically the same as the drunk buff but with the affected valued modified to a greater degree. The hungover buff which of course kicks in once the drunk buff wears off is a 10+ uncomfortable buff that lasts for 4 hours and increases energy decay while decreasing the hunger and social decay. Also, sims do have a small chance of not getting hungover and it's also possible to get rid of the hangover by drinking more. (For now, this leads to no consequences but in the future, it definitely will.)
Btw, your sims can't overdose or become addicted but I do plan to implement that in the future. Until then, let your sims run as wild as they want with this limited edition of consequence-free alcohol! :P

And last but not least, here's the list of modified XMLs!

I just so happened to be looking for a mod like this thank you for making one without my having to request it,look forward to future versions from what you said in the original posts.

lol now my sims can drink, smoke, and do drugs with the addition of this mod

I wish I could grasp the modding things I haven't even figured out how to make a simple tuning mod yet.

I depend on you and other modders that can figure it out to make the stuff I want to add again many thanks for taking the time to make this

I love this mod. I was wondering if you'd be willing to make it compatible as a craftable that you can drink from the fridge?

http://mysims4blog.blogspot.com/201...mod-by-aom.html

I have plenty of drunks who I'd love to see sit at home and drink themselves away but instead for now they have to travel to a bar every time they want to drink :p

Love the idea of this mod! Do you think you'll consider making different flavors? I tried it out and found that just one drink made me sim 'drunk', I personally think she can handle a few more than that :P

I agree.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe--if doable--have the drunk moodlet only happen if you drink while buzzed rather than always happening after the buzzed moodlet wears off.

Other than that, great mod! I really appreciate the thought put into this.

I love this mod and can't wait for more to be added (like for a drunk a sim to stumble or even fall over while drunk xD) long e the hangover part
As well as other sims noticing our sim is drunk and other sims drunk or buzzed

Hi there ! I was wondering if you got the chance to figure out how to tweek your mod for it to be more gradual ? So far, my sims get drunk after one single drink. I remember sharing my ideas with you, about having 3 or 4 steps leading to the sh*t faced moodlet, and the hangover would only happen if the sims drank up to that stage.
For now, I unfortunately had to remove your mod from my game. It kinda ruins nights out and dates when your sim wants to go to bed after a glass of wine ..
Also, but that can wait for when you figure out how to spread the drunkenness in time .. I feel like the sims are not really fun drunks. I thought that maybe being tipsy, drunk and then sh*t faced could inspire them some reckless behaviours, or like intensify their traits. For instance, sims with a bad temper would have a high chance of getting into fights while drunk, and romantic sims would have a high chance of flirting while drunk, you know stuff like that ! Maybe have some skinny deeping and dancing going on. In other words, I feel like your mod needs a bit of layers, because for now your mod isn't really party time.

Like before, I'm willing to help if your looking for modders that would know how to do that. I don't... all I do is translations for modders !

Cheers for taking the time to improve the game anyway, there's only 2 of you who attempted a drunk mod so I am very grateful !

I enjoy your mod and wonder if it'll be updated.
^^' TS4 has been needed to be updated so much,
it'll be sad if one of them doesn't work.

I like to ask the developer so that I can turn in the answer to the SimsVIP website where there's a list of compatible and incompatible mods for a new patch. However, I will test this out because I adore this mod so much. Let me know how it worked out for you. I can't wait to use this mod again! :D

love love love this mod!! but like a lot of others in the comments, i'd love to see it refined so that you can choose to have a lightweight sim who gets drunk off one drink or a sim who can handle a few before the buzzed moodlet kicks in. it's also a little annoying that "drunk" or "wasted" ALWAYS follow, with that 10+ dazed moodlet, because you can neither avoid it nor overpower being dazed with any other assortment of moodlets. i'd recommend giving it 3+ so that it's still dominant, but if your sim gets really playful or flirty or whatever then the moods can kind of mingle -- much like a real drunk person's, imo. xx

I'm not sure if someone mentioned this already (that's a lot to scroll through, haha), but, irl, staying hydrated (a.k.a., drinking water) whilst consuming alcohol can actually prevent a hangover, since all a hangover is is dehydration. That would be an interesting feature to implement: drinking water while drinking alcohol could decrease the chances of getting a hangover.
Also, people take longer to get drunk when they've eaten/have a full belly.
Finally, it would be realistic and funny if wasted Sims would be more clumsy, more accident-prone, more reckless (bar fights, skinny dipping, bad karaoke, and one night stands, anyone?), more likely to vomit, and more likely to embarrass themselves (though perhaps they wouldn't actually become embarrassed until the next morning during their hangover?).

If I knew anything about modding - which I don't - I suppose I'd do it something like this:

1-2 drinks gives a 'happy', 'confident' or 'flirty' moodlet, depending on randomness affected by that sim's traits. There'd be a boost to whatever invisible skills decide how good you are at pub games, too. Whims would start popping up for karaoke, woohoo in closet/bush, skinny dipping and also for drinking more.

3+ drinks gives a 'dazed' moodlet, with the possibility of vomit and social skills sufficiently nerfed that interactions are more likely to go badly. There's also a chance of acquiring an 'angry' moodlet.

Drinking water or coffee could speed up the rate at which the moodlets reduce, and the hangover could be some mix of embarrassed and dazed maybe?

When she was good she was very very good, but when she was bad she was fabulous.
