@Joselle

1. If you put them into the Program Files folder, then the game will no longer add townies/NPCs to any new neighborhoods you're going to create - which is why, many people download these empty templates.
However, if you put them in your Documents folder too, then you can actually play in the empty neighoborhoods. This is especially useful if you want to make over the EA neighborhoods and/or create your own families, etc. using the empty neighborhood.

2. The empty stealth hoods will only disable the bin families, but not the default townies/NPCs from the other subhoods. If you wish to also have empty universities, vacation hoods, etc., then you'd need the empty neighborhood templates too. Bear in mind though, that certain NPCs like Unsavory Charlatan or Mrs Crumplebottom will still appear (that's because they are object NPCs and not necessarily linked to neighborhoods... so they appear in every neighborhood like the Grim Reaper).

I thought I had removed the food from there... let me check one more time. Did the J'Adore Bakery lot also have food on the shelves?
Most of the time, it shouldn't be a big issue. This won't cause corruption, but the food won't be usable anymore, as you've described. Much like the pizza in the Curious's house.

Not exactly like the pizza at the Curious house - that was still edible.

The bakery has goodies on the display shelves but no way to buy them. (The cookstove in back comes with stirrable pots and such, so that item is doing what it should.)

Have another question. How many of the stores actually work, if nobody owns them? Obviously J'adore doesn't work without an owner (and I have already ascertained that the owner must be a playable Sim). Do the unowned stores just sit there being useless decoration? (If that's the case I may consider wholesale demolition and rebuilding into mostly-residential.)

Alright, deleting the sim references actually breaks the food. So, you cannot use them anymore... I'll replace those affected lots and just totally get rid of the food, lol. I might just put in birthday and wedding cakes as temporary placeholders in the bakery... so that they can be used.

I think all businesses need an owner... because otherwise you cannot label what's for sale and what's not. So, all the unowned stores won't work without an owner. They'll just be deco lots? Lol. But restaurants indeed work without an owner.

Default What about V001? Do I delete or what? You only have A001, M001 and T001 as Default's!

Download and extract the files. If you're downloading the default replacement versions, backup your existing files first, though. Make sure that you have moved the original templates somewhere other before you put mine.
Don't replace/merge any existing files!

Default Replacement Versions:
  • Cut and paste A001, M001 and T001 to
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
  • Note: If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, cut and paste it here instead.
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

Non-Default Replacement Versions:
  • Cut and paste AE01, ME01 and TE01 to
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
  • Note: If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, cut and paste it here instead.
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

BONUS: Main Hood Versions:
  • Cut and paste NAE1, NME1 and NTE1 to
    • Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods
  • Note: If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, cut and paste it here instead.
    • Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Neighborhoods

I've placed all of the default replacements in the directories or folder locations to work, I might delete some neighborhoods that I won't need anymore once I've moved every Lot and/or Sim and/or Family into one other existing Neighborhood! So if you have any advice or thoughts, I'm all ears!

Sincerely,

What is the meaning of "main hood", "sub hood", "downtown" (on main neighborhoods) etc..? I do not see any clarification.
Should i just download all the "defaults" in order to prevent townies and downtownies from spawning? Your other download worked well, I have no maxis families.
i downloaded your other mod thinking that it would do this. i should have run a test before spending hours beautifully decorating my hood
