You can change it with SimPE.

You can also use the Insimenator:

Did you check out the link because it explains what every part of insimenator does? I think it was near the end of the instructions.
I can't remember offhand which particular part of insim you have to click. I can never even remember which bit does what when I am playing - I tend to do a spot of random clicking every single time!

I'm pretty sure you click on the large purple part on the end.

Merola's Multi-Purpose Painting has a 'Rename Me' feature.

you could always type in boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true in the cheats box then shift+click on the sim you currently have selected and select spawn and chose the tombstone of L and D then shift click on the baby and make him selectable, his pic will disappear, but shift click on him and make him selectable again and it will come back, then type in boolProp testingCheatsEnabled false to turn the cheat off(make sure you turn the cheat off!) After you do all of this select the baby and click on the tombstone and select rename sim, then just change the name :D.....wow it might just be easier on you to download the insimenater:rofl:

the easiest way is shaklin's universal dresser (http://files.sims2graveyard.com/shaklin/). you can change nearly everything with it: names, face shape, clothes and look of NPC's...

I would recommend boolprop testingcheatsenabled true . You don't need to download anything to use that cheat.

But be careful with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. Even though automatically using it doesn't cause your game to go kaplooey, don't go pressing all types of options with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true and NEVER press 'Force Error' unless you really have an error to fix. I used to press all types of options with boolProp and sometimes, I couldn't even save or exit out the game! And it wouldn't let me marry any sims and my sims would exit out of options for no reason. I use InSim and it's a lot safer IMO. Just use caution when using boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. :)
