Recently my desktop died (creators nightmare I am working on an advent calendar for my site and had just finished working on my stuff - luckily was uploaded to my flash) I have reinstalled Sims 2 and all of my EP's/SP's (except KBIDS) along with SimPe, and all the other programs I need for meshing and recoloring. I set my preferences including setting the proper directory path for each EP/SP, dds pluginas etc. The error message looks like this(see below). I have checked my c:Program Files (86)/EA Games/Sims2 folder to see if any of my EP's/SP's installed twice and there are no files there that aren't supposed to be. The only thing I can think is that I have Sims 3 on the same computer but that was never an issue on the desktop. The program seems to work fine- I can recolor, I can clone meshes for meshing purposes it just flashes the message below

Also I have patched Simpe up to M&G but in step 8 of the instructions it says to delete folders.xceg- is this the same as expansions.xceg because after having checked everything the only thing I can think is that I didn't delete this.

It's very difficult to read the error message on such a tiny picture.

I don't know if this will help much, maybe try reinstalling SimsPE or maybe, yeah, get rid of the file by dragging it onto your desktop and if nothing changes drag it back to where it was or even rename the file to "expansions.xceg.bak" and again if noting happens change it back. Make sure the program is run in administrator mode, sometimes that can make a bit of a difference.
Also if its easier for everyone else to read the message in the image says the following:
Warning!
SimsPE detected a new Expansion Pack for "The Sims 2"
This SimPE Version does only work with Game Versions up to "The Sims 2 - Mansions and Gardens Stuff".
Newer Game Files might cause Errors when opened with this Version of SimPE
(For more Informations, please visit http://sims.ambertation.de/en/)
Run SimPE anyway?
Hope you solve your problem soon.

Are you downloading the current one? Which is the 73.44 on the front page of the SimPE site and not the one on the downloads page. You say you installed it so it makes me think your using the older AL version plus the M&G patch rather than the new QA version. And based on that error I'd also guess you have the older version of SimPE and you have games newer than that, thus the error message.

That unfortunately does not seem to solve the problem- I can deal with it - recolors and cloning seem to work fine so it mostly seems to be an annoyance

hrmm...
I use that QA version and have no pop ups. Somewhere in preferences there is a tick box for less pop ups or silent, maybe that squashes that pop up box?

I have uninstalled TS2- I am going to use my registry cleaner and delete all my files and then do a fresh reinstall Windows 7 does not always work that great with TS2 even though I am having no problems with Sims 1 or Sims 3. Hopefully this will solve part of the problems I have having and then I can use everything just fine after that. I have some EP's/SP's on digital download and some installed via disk- I am going to try installing the one's I don't have on digital download and see if that works.
