CAW Edit in Game Problem - Grey Overlay

When I edit my world in edit in game mode, when I go to edit town and it shows the view from the sky, I only see the lot bubbles and grey - I cant see buildings or grass or anything. When I zoom in, the grey goes away once I'm zoomed in close enough, but even when a little zoomed out it's grey. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Not sure if same issue, but the symptoms (excluding the color) are the same, so you could try what's said here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=422401

I came across this thread when I was looking for the answer to this very problem amanhehr. After reading the thread linked above, though it is not the same, and seeing people mention the game options, I went back into Edit In Game mode. The solution is to change the "Draw Distance" Graphic Option setting to high under Game Options. You will have to exit and restart the game mode, but the problem was solved for me.
