So I'm making a world same world I've been working on, and I know some people suggest having all your landscaping done first, before you began building lots but I didn't really do that. When I knew where I wanted a lot I would kind of flatten out the area around it to mark it. But now I'm stuck I have no clue where I want other things.
So my question is what do you do when you have CAW block.

I start a new world, and put the other on hold till I'm unblocked.
Or build for the world,
or make sims for the world,
Or answer questions on the Caw forums.

I second that. I either build lots for the world or actually play the game (as weird as that sounds. Who plays anymore?) I find using google earth to look at cities or towns to get ideas for my world helps too. Sometimes, I just go to work. :p

Sounds good, thanks ^_^ I know right who plays the game anymore haha. I would work on a different world but because of me being picky, a perfectionist and this being my first world I've restarted this world about ten times. However I have started a few lots my favorite is city hall oddly enough, my theme is Greek mythology. So I have city hall for Zeus' God of the sky, weather. godly law, and thunder/ lighting, and I took the fog emitter and made lighting. Also because one of his sacred animals is the eagle, I made and eagle mosaic thing on the floor.

That sounds really awesome actually! I've never finished a world completely, but if I'm very uninspired I sometimes try to write a little short story for my world - makes it easier for me to envision it, and then continue creating it. But actually *finishing* one is a completely different matter altogether...

There are two styles of world building, First, are the architects who plan everything from the outset, then follow their plan. Then there are the gardeners, who let their worlds evolve.
I definitely am a gardener. I try something, and if I don't like it, I rip it out and redo it. And redo it, and redo it.
If I get stuck, I compile my current version and start playing it. After a few hours of playing the game, you should have a pretty good idea of the problems with it, and you should have a dozen ideas on making it better.
The truth of the matter is, I don't want to waste my time with a world the creator has not played extensively. I mean, if a creator thinks his world is a piece of crap, to the extent he doesn't even want to play it, why should I waste my time? No one is good enough to upload a world which has not been extensively play tested.
It usually becomes apparent that a world has not been play tested. The homes are spartan and uninspired. There are routing problems. Sometimes things like bars and buildings don't have names. Things like libraries and clubs miss things like doors. If something is rushed out the door, it becomes apparent pretty fast.

I give up. At least in this case.
A few weeks ago I had some time to kill before a doctor's appointment, so I tried, once again, to make edits in SV_lite to customize it to my liking. Then, I went to my appointment, and my doctor doubled the dose of my blood pressure meds. Not going to do that again.

Go outside, get drunk and get laid. Not necessarily in that order! But seriously, doing something else will usually give you time to become inspired.
