TS4 Game Mods
TS4 Game ModsGuidelines
These are the rubrics that MTS staff use for evaluating TS3 Game Mods shared here.
The title above the post text controls the rubric's category, a number indicating its display order in the list, and its title, with no spaces between the word and the dividing | character: Category|Display Order|Title
Titles that begin with ** are rubric items that will not apply to every upload (a rabbithole does not need to be recolorable for example) and thus can be set to N/A by the moderator when evaluating an upload. Links below the title are provided to the creator along with the rubric reasons and are links to the appropriate section of the guidelines, relevant tutorials, etc.
In the post text, the numbers at the beginning of a line indicate the star rating for a particular rubric item, with a possible 1 to 5. Exactly how these numbers are used will vary based on the type of rubric item... Is it a "was it done right? yes or no?" type evaluation which would have only 1 or 5 as options? Or a matter of quality that will be more of a sliding scale including 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? Or something else?
A dividing | character can be given at the end of any one of the 1-5 star items to give a link that is relevant to that item.

Quality|1| Tuning Mods - Versions
1: There is only one version of this mod. Whenever possible, it is best that creators make multiple versions in different flavors. For example, don't just double a value, but offer it triple, as well as half, a third, and none. Obviously, exact values vary depending on your mod. 2: Please list the values used in the mod flavors and the original so we can see what has been changed.
3: The mod only comes in one version but you have explained why in your post.
4: There are at least 2 versions of this mod and you've listed their values, but a few more could be useful to some downloaders as there are many playing styles.
5: There are more than a few useful flavors included in this mod. Thanks!

Reason: added ts4script to the list
Files|1|File Type
1:The files are not working .package files. All files uploaded to MTS must be in .package format, .pyo/.py. or ts4script5: You've uploaded a .package file or a zip with either ts4script or .pyo/.py. Great!

Information|3|Mod Type
1:It is not clear what kind of mod this is. Mods need to be identified (for example, a resource override, recategorizer or hider, XML tuning, or a full script mod. This is VERY important since it will affect what your mod may conflict with.)5:You have clearly stated the type of the mod you uploaded. Thanks!

1: It is not clear from the description what the mod is for or what it does.3: You have explained what your mod does, but it is a little unclear.
4: You have clearly explained what your mod does.
5: You have explained what your mod does, it's purpose, and in great detail as well. Thanks!

**Information|5|Tuning Mods List Values
1: There are no listed values. Please make sure that you list the default values and what you changed them to. For example, if you upload a mod to make showers take less time, please state the original time that it would take a Sim to shower, along with your changed values.1: There are no listed values because this is an update of an older mod which did not list the resource edited. When updating a mod please list the default and changed values. For example, if you upload a mod to make showers take less time, please state the original time that it would take a Sim to shower, along with your changed values.
2: The changed values are listed, but not the default values. Please provide both changed and default values.
2: The default values are listed, but not the changed values. Please provide both changed and default values.
3: You have listed both the default and changed values in your description, but the listing could be clearer.
5: You have listed both default and changed values clearly. Thanks!

** Information|6|Special Instructions
1: This mod requires special instruction to use or install. Please add an instruction on how to install/use the mod. This is especially important for .ini file mods.2: There are install instructions for part of this mod but they appear incomplete.
3: You have added some instructions on how to install/use your mod, but it could be expanded upon and/or worded better.
5: Your mod either doesn't require special steps or you have added clear and concise instructions on how to use and install it. Thank you.

Information|7|Post Presentation
1: Please format the post in a readable format. Lists, headings, and proper use of bold text where appropriate is a much easier to read and follow than a dense block of text.2: The post is formatted, but is still difficult to read. Use headings and bold only for emphasis of important points.
3: Your description is formatted so that it's fairly easy to read, but is still a little cluttered.
4: Your description is formatted well.
5: Your description has excellent formatting making it very easy to read and understand. Thank you.

**Information|11|Slider Information
1: There are no details about the sliders. Slider uploads require information regarding which area of the sliders panels they can be found, what age(s) and gender(s) they're for, and what they're called in-game. Example: This slider is for young adult and adult males and females, shows up in Eyes > Eyebrows and is called 'Thumb Length'2: There are some details about the sliders but they are incomplete. Slider uploads require information regarding which area of the sliders panels they can be found, what age(s) and gender(s) they're for, and what they're called in-game. Example: This slider is for young adult and adult males and females, shows up in Eyes > Eyebrows and is called 'Thumb Length'
5: You have added a clear description of the in game names, slider panel area and appropriate genders and ages for your slider. Thank you.

Screenshots|1| Illustrative Image
1: There are no images attached to the post. We know it can be difficult to capture something useful in-game for many game mods, but we do require -some- sort of illustrative image for the mod to appear on the downloads pages.3: The attached picture is appropriate for the downloads page, though some in game screenshots would be great too.
4: The attached picture is appropriate for the downloads page and there are in game screenshots as well. Thank you.
5: The thumbnail is appropriate for the downloads page and the picture(s) showing your mod in action is great. You can easily tell what the mod does from the picture(s) you've set up. Thank you.

Information|13| Trait Mods
1: There is little or no information given for this trait. Please list all changes to whim rolls and frequency for each whim effected by this trait We also need to know what category the trait can be found under in CAS. Please clearly describe any added buffs, and any effects to skills, careers, and relationship scores, including their effects and duration. 2: There is some information given about this trait, but it's either unclear or incomplete. Make sure that you list all changes to whim rolls and frequency for each whim effected by this trait, and any additional options like buffs, skills, careers and relationship scores, including their effects and duration.
2: There is some information given about this trait, but it's either unclear or incomplete. Make sure to specify the CAS category of the trait in either your description or an image, so downloaders will know where to find it.

Quality|3|Trait Buffs and Whims
1: The buffs and whims chosen for this trait don't seem to make logical sense for the name of the trait. Try to make sure that the attributes chosen fit well with the concept of your trait, and the name of the trait matches that concept.1: This trait is named after a real medical diagnosis, but the whims and buffs chosen seem excessively negative and/or potentially insensitive to people actually affected by the condition. We strongly recommend doing additional research and, if you still wish to show a real medical condition, trying your best to accurately represent the medical condition with empathy for those affected. If you do not wish to commit to the responsibility of portraying a real life condition with sensitivity and empathy, we recommend changing the trait to remove all references to any actual medical diagnoses.
2: Some of the buffs and whims chosen for this trait don't seem to make logical sense for the name of the trait. Try to make sure that the attributes chosen fit well with the concept of your trait, and the name of the trait matches that concept.
3: While some of the buffs and whims chosen for this trait don't seem to fit the trait's name well, they do an acceptable job producing a sim who will react in a way that makes sense.
5: The buffs and whims chosen for this trait do a great job executing the premise of the trait's name!
