Sims 2 Ultimate Collection Securom
I have the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection installed(it's been around for almost 2 years now), and I know about it's notorious Securom, even though Securom is not a virus. Since the Reclaimyourgame website is no longer active, is there still a guide to remove Securom completely from TS2UC? I've heard about removing Securom completely from TS2UC, but I've only managed to remove it when I uninstalled TS2UC.Also, has anybody petitioned EA/Origin to remove Securom from the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection? I would like to do so, but I am not really active in maintaining a petition. If anybody does start a petition to do so, can you please link it in your post, so I can spread the word about the petition.

Yep its not the same and no one has reported any problems with it since UC came out.

Yes, it is a different version of the big bad old beast, less likely to cause crashes of the game, etc..but as I've always wondered:
Why the hell do they bother, after all?
EA does not officially support Sims 2 now, nor have they for nearly 10 years. Why do they bother having a anti-piracy device in a game that they are no longer actively supporting or have anything to do with?
Where does it report to, and how? While they probably needed it to be sure of the validity of the games one had to get the UC, it is not necessary anymore, and EA should have given us the option to buy the UC without it..just like they should have removed it after the last EP they released, because they had already started releasing Sims 3.
It's still an invasion of privacy and worthless to boot..but then again, EA has never been exactly clued into smarts, either.
(and this is my private and professional opinion on the matter.)

Modern Securom doesn't affect me at all either, but since they made TS2UC free to everybody, there's really no point in having Securom or any anti-piracy measure in TS2UC for that matter. Heck, I'm pretty sure games that get pirated do not have Securom or any crap like this.
If I do get motivated enough, I might start my own petition to EA.

Windows 10 is a crap OS and blocks a lot of things from working as they should and a 12 year old game has little it can do about it other than turning off UAC for it is UAC that is the problem with Windows 10.
UAC = User Account Control.

I managed to get rid of all of the DRM of TS2UC with TrashReg Freeware ( http://www.trashreg.com/rtkf_eng.html ), and when I tried to open it, it says that I need a disc to play it. I uninstalled it right after, and I won't install TS2UC again.

The Securom thing can only be safely and permanently removed with a program exclusively designed to remove that program alone. Anything to do with a general registry clean up does not permanently remove it. Reference to this: http://www.wow.com/wiki/SecuROM

...Just a word of caution here, I'd stay away from most registry cleaners. Fortunately, RTKF is one of the safer ones, or the one built into CCleaner, but anything more is risky. (True story: My mother once installed a very aggressive one that rendered her machine unbootable. Had to reinstall the OS from scratch.) They aren't even necessary on modern versions of Windows. Unlike earlier versions of Windows (from what I recall, Windows 9x's registry was terribly easy to corrupt), the registry as it stands now is robust enough to not need to be cleaned on a regular basis.
Either ways, SecuROM tends to be embedded more deeply into the OS than the registry.

According to the Wikipedia page on SecuROM, games with it included wouldn't run on Windows 10 or so Microsoft said. That being said, he TS2UC works fantastically on my laptop which has Windows 10. So I'm really confused. Honestly though I haven't had any issues with SecuROM in ages, since it was first brought up as a big deal and I'd been trying to burn a CD on my old Windows XP rig.
I don't get why so many Simmers hate Marsha Bruenig. She actually grows up to be quite pretty if you allow her to.

@Dopenarn
Now if you are dead set on removal of it then go here for the tool to remove it. https://support.securom.com/removaltool.html
@punkrockgoth1988 the new securom that comes with UC allows UC to play without a disk and is no problem at all.

I am getting along very well with Windows 10 and don't have to turn off UAC either; and my game runs really, really well.

I did remove it with that tool, but even there, it did not remove it entirely, so I had to use Trashreg Freeware to remove the rest from Regedit.

I have Windows 7 to be honest, and TS2UC was a great game.
